Hey ho whaddya know...it's me again...

I was thinking that men's underwear is pretty horrible. Even when men do get posh underwear it's macho crap like Calvin Klein. Hidden seams and materials other than industrial grade cotton seem unheard of. Actually flattering styles which don't totally ignore the fact that men are actually quite structurally different to women in that area seem practically blasphemous to the underwear orthodox.

I saw a really nice pair of men's short-cut boxer briefs in black lace by Moschino ages ago they came with a matching tank top with 'Macho' written on it (I bought the tank but can't find it anymore  :( ). I'm aware that I'm probably the only member of the male population who wears lace but surely men's underwear trends are going to have to become a little more sophisticated.

Short of custom-ordering a Viv Westwood man corset what's a guy supposed to do?

P.S. I forgot to mention suspender belts at Galliano. This is why I posted in trendspotting. In my ranting I totally forgot to mention that my point was...surely there is going to an increasing trend for fancy men's underwear?

 oh dear, lace. I do like the 'macho' thing though haha.

Increase in sophistication; perhaps, but lace scares me (on men), but then again i'm one of the fans of the calvin klein look, hate y's on men especially when you can see the mark (a mans vpl) through theyr trousers, i feel ill at the thought. Perhaps i just need to open my mind, but to honestly say I would ever be attracted to a man if I knew he wore lace pants is v questionable.

Cavalli mens undies always makes me   see through, thongs, mesh, floral print, foiled...not at all tasteful but... :innocent:

I think there will be a trend towards fancier, more feminine underwear for men - but I don't know how many men will want to put up with the itchiness! :D

Oh, god yes. Ys are foul. This is exactly what I'm talking about. Who thought that y-fronts would be flattering. But at the same time I don't want to wear Calvin Klein boxers which are like the equivalent of big pouffy farmer's wife knickers. The legs on those things practically come down to the knee... Men have thighs too.

prince, maybe you can post a picture of you in your underwear so we can get a better idea of what you're talking about? :shifty:

Move along there Cap'n! There's going to be no Terry Richardson style amateur photography from me...

lace for men is good prince. sexy i think.

Lace? Maybe. Briefs? Can't stand 'em.

amateur?....i was thinking something more along the lines of a stylized David LaChapelle-esque shoot

whaddya say?

in all seriousness though...
i never really even considered lace for men... now that you mention it though, I do find the idea intriguing

I really love sheer underwear on guys, very sexy. Although the idea of a man in lacey underwear is kinda sexy too. Although judging by the desription of the knickers in question something Newton-esque might be the best fit

Call me conservative but for me it's just briefs, boxer-briefs or commando. Fabric doesn't get any fancier than the usual: cotton, nylon, spandex. By mistake I've worn ladies' underwear and I didn't really see the need to get a mens' version.

Call me conservative but I think lace on men is a bit much...not a fan of fancy or feminine underwear for men in general, I just want comfort from a good pair of boxers that allow my balzac to breathe. People can't see my underwear anyway, I'll stick with my Muji boxers.

Why not try a pair of "boy cut" girls' knickers? Your's a slim lad...you could probably wear a 10, I'm guessing. They've got some nice, simple styles these days with great colors and fabrics, that won't give you a wedgie or show over the top of your trousers.

I don't do lace myself (makes my bum itch) but if that's your thang, then go nutty!
