Glee

My friend went to the Glee show in Toronto a few days ago. When I asked her about it she said it was fantastic. Then I asked her how Darren was in person- if he was as hot as we all think he is- to which she responded YES!!! She had seats really close to the stage and she said that he was just as fabulous in person as on screen (and the same goes for the rest of the Glee cast).

Also, love the guest appearance of these two in the video. It was pretty cool to see and I love the total 80's flick vibe of the video. But of course my favorite bit was seeing both boys in the video (and also not gonna lie I still got excited when I noticed that Hanson was the band. lol). It's very cool to see Katy Perry recognize and include Darren in the video because of the popularity of his version of Teenage Dream. It probably also increased sales for her own recording of the song.

'Glee': Six Join Writing Staff for Season 3

The Fox hit adds staffers to assist Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk.

In the midst of its summer concert tour, Glee has added six to its writing staff for Season 3.

Allison Adler, Marti Noxon, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Michael Hitchcock, Matt Hodgson and Ross Maxwell will join Glee executive producers Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan in the writers’ room beginning Monday when work starts on Season 3.

Despite its ratings success and the intricacies involved in melding musical numbers into the show’s narrative, Glee has maintained a remarkably small writing staff. Murphy, Falchuk and Brennan have formed the core creative group, eschewing a traditional writers’ room.

The plan originally was for Glee to introduce additional writers midway through the recently completed second season, but with a production-heavy schedule involving music supervision and choreography as well as planning the summer concert tour, Murphy, Falchuk and Brennan wound up writing all 22 episodes, with Murphy and Falchuk also directing several installments.
Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter in May that Season 3 will focus on new freshman characters and that he planned to include more serialized stories.

“Last year you had the baby story line that everyone could follow and this year we didn’t do that,” he told THR. “Next year we’re going to be doing that more. What I have learned from this season is I think people want story arcs.”

Adler, whose credits include Chuck and No Ordinary Family, will serve as a co-executive producer.

Noxon, who first cut her teeth on Joss Whedon’s Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer and whose credits include Mad Men and Shonda Rhimes’ Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, will be a consulting producer. Hitchcock, a former MADtv writer and actor whose credits include two episodes of Glee as well as several Christopher Guest features and 11 episodes on the final season of United States of Tara, also will be a consulting producer.

Aguirre-Sacasa, a comic book writer and playwright whose credits include Broadway’s Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and HBO’s Big Love, will be a co-producer.

Hodgson, a Glee script coordinator who worked with Murphy on the Julia Roberts feature Eat, Pray, Love, will be a staff writer, as will Running in Traffic actor Maxwell.

From 20th Television, principal photography on Season 3 of the Fox hit begins in August.

The Glee concert movie, Glee Live! 3D! bows in theaters Aug. 12.

Adler, Noxon and Aguirre-Sacasa are repped by WME; Hitchcock is with Gersh and Rain Management Group; Hodgson with CAA.

YAY two female writers - Girl Power. Seriously though this is a good thing for the show and especially for the female characters.

Oh wow, that kid was to damn much! So cute, and he was brilliant, haha, Katy's video was fantastic as well, so well done, girl has some great sense of humor.

Oh the mini warbler was fantastic:clap: Couldn't believe he knew all the words too. Katy's video was great too, she doesn't take herself seriously at all and great casting all round and obviously great that she included Darren & Kevin.

Gwyneth showed up at one of their shows (it's great that she chose to sing live!)

She actually sounded decent live, but all i could watch in that video was the incredibly dorky dancing of Mark, hahah, he needs a lesson....or two.

ps: Not feeling Dianna's new haircut!

^In that picture from the Emmy magazine and also in that episode I couldn't help noticing that the leggings cut off at a point that wasn't flattering. They should have just worn tights instead. But that's just me being a picky person. What does everyone think about the costumes worn on the show? Do you like them or no?

'Glee' Original Cast Graduating, Ryan Murphy Says

20z3byb.jpg

Here's the one drawback with TV series about kids: they grow up.

Unless a showrunner can suspend the laws of time and begin writing seasons that address just days or weeks, they eventually face a decision as to how they'll adapt their shows to older stars. Will they follow them from high school to new stages in life? Or bring in new characters? Perhaps both?

According to "Glee" showrunner Ryan Murphy, he's leaning toward doing the latter.

He confirmed to Ryan Seacrest that he's looking to move the current cast on from high school, with them graduating at the end of the third season, and bringing in fresh talent to the show -- which is the entire function of the new Oxygen Network show, "The Glee Project."

"That is true. I don't think of it in terms of eliminating or replacing. Because I think the thing about this cast is people love them and they are incredibly talented. They've left sort of an indelible mark," Murphy told Seacrest on his radio show. "The thing that I wanted to do and the cast wanted to do, we didn't want to have a show where they were in high school for 8 years. We really wanted it to be true to that experience. We thought it would be really cool if we were true to the timeline."

That would mean seeing Lea Michele's Rachel Berry, the show's leading character, graduate, amongst many others. Murphy said that, with two adults to rely on, he's confident of being able to make new stars.

"We've got Matt Morrison and Jane Lynch who will stay and be the male and female lynchpins of the series, but I think the fun thing about the show is it's a celebration of youth and talent and I think that just like with the original cast, I think finding those young unknown people and giving them an opportunity to break into the business and become stars is a really fun and exciting thing and is the spirit of the series."

Already, Murphy is teasing a new cast member for the third season.

Of course, there are options if he doesn't fully want to let his original cast leave; a number of TV shows, past and present have mapped out different courses he could take. There's the "Saved By The Bell" approach: that show series created two shows, following the original, beloved cast to College Years, and creating a New Class, as well. Then there's the "Gossip Girl" model, which put many of its stars in the local university and continued on in the same series.

Matt has the fewest fan though and Sue has run her course, they really need to bring back Season 1 Sue, because i couldn't stand her anymore in Season 2 and was happy about any episode she wasn't in.
don't think this show will still be successful without the main cast, this show is about the kids, no one cares about Mr Shue

^Exactly.

It's all very interesting. This show is so fast paced that I feel like we STILL don't know who these characters are. I don't know if I can watch an entire new cast of kids. It has to be a whole new formula.

AND THEY BETTER WIN NATIONALS THIS SEASON OR THIS SHOW WOULD HAVE BEEN A WASTE OF TIME

I will stop watching when they change cast. Geez why can't they just cancel it at the end of the season and let it die nicely
