Glee

Honestly I think they should let it go at the end of season 3. Wrap it up in a nice big bow and say goodbye. I think anything else is just going to be jumping the shark tbh.

if the ratings go down quickly they'll be done by the end of season 4, if not even in the middle of the season. i think there's no chance this show will go on without these this successfully... it's already starting to run its course, not to mention they're getting new similar shows that will go head to head with glee with similar theme.

isn't another network doing their own show like glee? i think it was nbc or something, i think that the concept of glee is great but the show is produced horribly. they could have stretched the seasons so much that they could all still be sophmores. but thats what you get when you hire mid-twenty years old to play teenagers

Chord Overstreet will not be returning to for the third season of Glee, as his series regular option has not been picked up, JustJared.com can confirm.

The 22-year-old actor, who plays the role of Sam Evans on the hit FOX series, could return to the show as an occasional guest star next season, according to Deadline.

Chord just tweeted saying “well its been a good yr too bad its over, time for summer and starting fresh.”

Darren Criss and Harry Shum, Jr., who were both recurring guest stars last season, have been bumped up to series regulars for the third season. Dianna Agron will also be returning!

anyone else think this is interesting yet not surprising? I am pretty sure Ryan Murphy was quoted to say that Sam was going to be the "new class of Glee" but now he's out. It's a shame though because they had so many options when they first introduced his character and they made him quite boring. Makes me think they want an entire new cast when the glee kids graduate at the end of season 3.

^ i honestly think its because he didnt "break out" as much as they hoped. I mean look at how big darren has gotten. i am kinda surprised but im not gonna miss him that much if its gone for good.

^ Yes I agree. His presences declined towards the end of the season especially after Quinn cheated on him. It's sad for him.

I'm really disappointed they are going to get rid of Sam. Although they didn't gave him much storylines I still liked his sweet and dorky personalilty plus Chord is just such a cutie and I liked to see him on screen. Sam and Blaine are pretty much the only male characters I like in Glee anyway.
Maybe it means then that the one who is going to win The Glee Project is a guy, because I can't imagine them casting one more girl after Sam's leaving.

Thats showbiz for ya, harsh, but he really wont be missed by me, i cringed by many of his efforts anyhow, from dancing to acting, his singing is fine, but even in interviews i read he came across like a major douche!

i wonder why he left...he wasn't THAT unpopular...
Darren was the hit of the last season, there's no doubt, but still...

^^he came across as a major douche in interviews and just as boring as in the show. he has good looks(not my type, but i can't say he's ugly) but just no personality or charme on screen.
Darren and Harry always look like they have a good time when they perform, it's really fun to watch them, i never had that with Chord. and i think they planned for him to turn into the new heart-throb but then Darren came along who now is loved by girls and gays, Harry is the only one who can really dance (of the guys), Chord never got a fanbase

yeah, i think he was planned as a counterpart for Finn, but next to Finn and the Mohawk guy (can't remember his name right now) there's no space for him whatsoever as a "loverboy" (esp not next to Agron who's as bland as he is). he's not good for dancing, and he doesn't have special singing abilities and it's not like the other guys are so so ugly so that he could get away on his looks above every other guy. i think you're spot on Alve about Darren taking both fanbases, hence Chord losing it, that explains it right.

Chord must have some fanbase, it was trending worldwide on twitter when he cut his hair! For me, I never really noticed im, the only time was during 'trouty mouth' lol but I think it may be a blessing in disguise for him if they don't sort the show out. That said I'm really pleased Darren & harry will be getting more time. I also think they should really do more with Mark Salling and ease of Cory a bit.

Sunshine isn't coming back for season 3 either, which i dont think will upset anybody. and Lauren's role is going to be smaller. I wonder if the new writers made these decisions. Hopefully they will clean up the show

It does sound like the writers are reverting to the leaner season one. I still loved the show's second season, so I hope the musical numbers, humor, and romance remain what they've always been.

^veto that. Chenoweth's character is probably more developed than some of the glee kids. She adds energy to the show

I'm sad for no Cheno.
I like Lauren so at least she is still around.
I don't really care for Sunshine. She's done her bit.

I'm shocked by Chord's removal...he had a lot of charm and seemed like a fan favorite. He had that tween heart-throb thing going on. He clearly has fans too, he racked up a lot of Twitter followers.
