Gucci F/W 2019.20 Milan

From a positive point of view, at least those models wearing a mask don´t have to feel the embarrassment of being seen wearing those rags.

I'm sorry but I'm not going to be outraged because your model's face was covered.

It's laughable.
It's just interesting to see that Michele, season after season, keeps finding new ways to make his models uglier, more ridiculous, or absolutely unrecognizable. Is it a lack of respect, does he hate models, I don't know, but imo it says a lot about his person...

so our plan is to ram outrage and controversy into the ground, so that the words "outrage" and "controversy" mean nothing anymore, so that people with actual valid criticisms can be more easily dismissed? got it

I understand models´ feelings...but the purpose of a fashion show is to promote the clothes, not the models. The models are (even though it sounds horrible) a tool here.
All the focus should be in the clothes. If the designer wants to cover all the model faces (like Margiela did in 1995, if my memory doesn´t fail me) because it is part of the collection...the models should walk like that.

They are being paid for that, they aren´t part of the creative conversation.

Couldn’t have said it better.

I know how heavily focused this community is on supporting models but Margiela has done it so many times and everyone thinks so highly of it so why is it being critiqued here? Because it’s Alessandro’s work?

I didn’t mind the collection, I’d truly like to dig into this guy’s skull to see what inspires him to style everything so heavily, but honestly I can’t hate on him after that spring campaign he did. He is a serious powerhouse of genius and I support him 100%

Junya F/W 2006 + Prada S/S 2011 + Demna's vocabulary at Balenciaga makes up quite a lot of this collection.

I appreciate the theatre of his shows, even if they don't make the impact his campaigns manage to do and the styling is, as ever, utterly hideous. This season though I have to say even trying to pick everything apart, I'm only really feeling his accessories, which as alluded to above are merely tributes to other designers.

models when on runway is to fulfill designers' idea and serve the clothes, brands don't pay them to make them feel like a super star

Jesus his aesthetic is horrible. There are actually some really cool and wearable pieces - more so than previous seasons - but it's completely overshadowed by awful styling. I mean, what the hell is the point of having a model walk down the runway with a hairbrush in their hand other than for some pretentious concept of "fashion". It's so ego-driven.
Gucci has become such a second-tier brand now that relies to heavily on being the 'it" brand forcefully rather than authentically.

The market will get tired about these stuff oneday and I am afraid this day is just near the corner.

Stylism guidelines : Put as many pieces on a model you can.

We can barely see the clothes but I guess it is enough to feed an Instagram feed for 6 months. Anyway agreed with what stated above Gucci does not even need a show it's all about marketing wether the clothes are good or not, cheap or not.

Note : I like the golden earing clips
