Gucci S/S 2026 Milan

The frames annoy me but also.. Demma gotta do Demna.

It is a much better and edited proposition than I expected. Dont know if it his sole direction or just a reality in face of the crisis of the brand. But he bridges perfectly between TF and Michele which is what people wanted from his predecessor. Yet with the right amount of Demna-isms to keep his ow following happy.

It proves also how a "better"casting elevates his work. There is nothing groundbreaking here but for sure the show in March will make it feel a bit more impactful. And it should be Impactful enough to sell, just enough.

Surprising people are not hating that much…

Doing this cosplay more than TEN years later is PATHETIC, the pretended irony is not even irony anymore because it’s so done and burnt, the <<tryhardness>> of it… I just can’t with fashion anymore, I’m so so done.

I despise Demna even if I think he has something and that he has been relevant in the past. But he has put fashion in a place that’s so boring and ridiculous at the moment.

You know that Simpsons episode in which Bart repeats the same joke 1847363839million times? I feel the same.

And it’s even more deceiving that many people are buying into it and saying it’s not that bad… it’s empty guys, there’s nothing there, no fashion, no nothing, just pure gimmick and ragebait.

I’m so so so done.

AGREE.

Came here to see what feedback there was, but after this - I am closing my eyes (and wallet) to Gucci.
Poor decision to put Demna there, I am certain someone more talented could've been appointed. (Riccardo Tisci)

Please go one moment to La Principessa look.

Very Alessandro, right?

Now zoom in into her finger.

What do you see, please.

No, it is not a Cartier panther.

Could that be a... tiger?

A relaunching of Hortus Deliciarum, the High Jewelry AMichele project?

With AM iconic animal as inspiration? (l'aveugle par amour)

🤭

Sorry, my imagination sometimes just fly.

there are many closeted demna fans who probably want to gaslight us into thinking he is the next coming of christ in Gucci.

at this point of late-stage demna, the irony, and the remove between the viewer and the collection that it causes just comes across as insecure. i just wish he'd commit to being earnest; he's being judged harshly anyway.

on the other hand i think the mecenate, it-girl, and maybe contessa gowns, as well as the diva coat, have a likelihood of showing up at a red carpet or the met gala in the upcoming year which is at least something.

This entire collection feels like a parody of Gucci's History and its creative Directors. Gucci is currently in desperate need of an identity, and Demna actually did a good job with this teaser collection. It's sexy, playful, and quintessentially Demna.

At this point, why reinvent the wheel when you can get a similar one?

IMO it’s quite boring but it’s exactly what I expected to see based on previous news coverage, the fact that he’s a very lazy designer and how deep in sh*t Gucci is at the moment.

It all feels tired already since it’s more disingenuous crap from someone who approaches everything with the remove of an academic, not the passion of a couturier or whatever they called him in that puff piece. If anything it’s even less credible than at Balenciaga because this characters might as well have come from Mars, seeing how little they correspond with current day reality of Italy or anywhere else.

P.S. I did feel like I learnt more Italian with the little plaques than I had ever learnt in my life. An upside to all the downsides.

La mecenate and Flora gowns are gorgeous, but they could be just as well presented under Balenciaga. I wonder if Isabelle will become a Gucci ambassador.
My mates just told me many prototypes were actually done within the Balenciaga couture ateliers as the collection was designed in Paris, and it shows, some of these jeans and gowns could be Balenciaga Couture.

Maybe you're not that far off. The Spike Jonze / Halina Reijn film debuting today alongside the collection is called The Tiger.

So far it isn’t terrible, but the innovation and creativity feel lacking. The storytelling is superficial and has been done before — even drifting into Dolce & Gabbana territory with its exaggerated “Italianness.” Like so much these days, it feels more like a styling and visual merchandising exercise. Yes, it’s executed better than anything SdS produced, but that low standard shouldn’t be the baseline.
