Hello,

What exactly is the quality of Gucci's bags, and etc as compared to others like Fendi, Prada, and etc? I have owned items by these brands, and am just looking for some explict information.

Their items would encompass the canvas/fabric offerings as well as the traditional leather. Please be specific. Thank you.

I don't know about Gucci but I think as a general rule, Prada isn't the best quality. I have quite a few Prada pieces that don't look too good after a season's wear. But stupid me, I just keep going back and buying more!

I bought a Prada bag this season (back in October) and it already shows a lot of wear and tear. Mind you, I take VERY good care of my things and this only happens with Prada.

I have a few novelty items by Prada so they don't get much use, and one can't tell by just that. But then I also have a piece og luggage by them that has not been used yet. Prada I have heard that their quality wasn't stellar.

Somebody once told me that Gucci is actually quite high quality, and even their logo canvas stuff is resilient, and well made. Fendi I am somewhat ambivalent about. Any other opinions?

Somehow I really don't like Gucci bags and I've never bought any.

i own quite a few GUCCI bags and they ARE of good quality.... :flower:

i must agree with CHICK about PRADA. my bowling bag is already out of shape :yuk:

you will find the highest quality bags are produced by the large fashion conglomerates. hermes of course has a lock on top quality leather bags, they have made leathergoods for royalty since before the turn of the (twentieth) century. they own JPG if i am not mistaken and maybe a couple of other labels. LVMH which owns vuitton, dior, celine, etc. have a number of top-tier leather factories at their disposal, so once again, a standard of quality. the gucci group, maintains high quality standards as well. part of the reason they transformed themselves into a multibrand group was to get their hands on some of the resources some of the other houses has (the beauty resources at ysl beaute and the watch makers at bedat, et al)...prada does not make the highest quality bags. for years, prada outsourced the production of their bags which is the reason so many (perfect) copies exist and why so many prada bags are known to go to tatters.

i hope this helps.

What do you think of this bag? Thanks.

It's nice, good colors and all that but maybe too much logo for my personal taste.

Apparently it's only available in Japan. 89,000 Japanese yen discounted to 85,000. That would be about $850.

It's amazing about Japan's consumption of luxury goods

nice bag. my friend from GUCCI got a similar one. he's a guy

There's also a black one which I thnk is more discreet.

I would assume that this is more of a unisex bag but seemingly based more on a male ideal per se.

dont like the black one.

i say: you want LOGO, go lal the way :P !!!!!!

I agree prada doesn't seem great quality, but I have the same problem I keep buying  they're just so cute, I can't resist

hmm...I have a question here: what about Fendi's quality comparing to Gucci and Prada? (the fabric kind of material)

I have a Fendi fabric bag but not any of the others so I can't compare only tell my experiences which so far have been quite good. The fabric is fairly durable and quite strong and thick. Also, I have had it out with me when suddenly it started to rain or snow and it's held up through that. The leather strap creased quite easily but the fabric has held up impeccably so far.

Ok peeps! The quality between both Fendi, gucci and Prada are very different. i own a couple of Gucci and Fendi handbags. The gucci is my fav. Black Jackie O and it is 2 years old now and you would believe i only bought it the other day.

The Fendi is the same as i went mad and bought a few around the same time. I used to carry my Fendi Mamma Zucca around practially everywhere i went and although i wont really fault it, little things like the leather handle - i think they use a few layers of thin leather to make the strap,i noticed that there was a separation in the middle of the strap, nothing superglue couldnt fix, as for the fabric - perfect.

Saying that i had to take the Gucci back to Bond St and have the leather piece that holds the piston re-stitched. Only little things - I WOULD RECOMMEND BOTH GUCCI AND FENDI - timeless sophistication.

My best bag so far is the Dior Street chic, because it has taken some rough man-handling from myself, usually when i have done some grocery shopping and have 5 heavy bag in both hands, the Dior is squashed under my arm, because lazily i cant be bothered to go back out into the cold.

i was going to buy a Prada(the only one i havent got as yet) but as i hate the nylon material, was looking at buying a leather bag, not sure after reading your comments. :(
