^^^ ...Or simply that there’s a place for both these types of women— and even many more types of styles that a single woman can see herself as? From the mid-2010s, Alber’s Lanvin of asymmetrical but casual fit, with bold jewelry and the dreaded Louboutin had been the look of The Real Housewives Of types from my neck of the woods. So the more discerning women would have avoided this signature— just like Tom Ford would be associated with that king douche type from my neck of the woods, unfortunately. Haider cleaning house of sorts is a huge relief, frankly.
I’m attracted to many types of styles for men: Miuccia’s Prada, before Raf of course; Helmut Lang will always be my first fashion love and ideal; and Tom Ford and his Gucci and YSL, being the personal preference on how to dress. And frankly, maybe because I’m not wealthy, I can and have learned to only afford one item at most from a designer’s collection that will endure for as long as possible to wear with other designers’ investable designs. I can’t imagine wearing a designer head to toe as presented by the label— buying a glutton load of fashion even if I have a privileged allowance, and following only their sensibility.
I’m not going to wear Haider’s Tom Ford as styled: nylon gym short shorts with a bespoke suit jacket and monogrammed slippers LOL I will wear his leather pant with Prada/Church's/Dries boots, an old grey cotton tee from Club Monaco I’ve had forever and own several of because it’s a good fit and weight, and throw a wool double-breasted officer’s coat by Dries over it— or maybe a heavy canvas trench-length peacoat from Christopher’s Burberry Prorsum. That’s over 15 years worth of timeless fashion. And that’s just for a casual look. There’s so much versatility in Haider’s separates here, even the suitings; women can easily wear the men’s— her man's, and everyone can make these designs their own. No one needs to look, dress and act like icy, metallic replicants as styled for the presentation. But I’m a nerd and adore the Blade Runner films, so the fantasy is a fantastic— and kinky, visual for me LMFAO
