Halston F/W 08.09 NYC

Some pieces are good, but I do have a feeling that I have seen most of them before. Is that just me or an illusion?

omg, i'm soo disappointed with this!! where is all the exciting stuff?? it's just plain boring!

the guardian says one of the pieces net-a-porter will be selling tomorrow is a teal blue shirt dress.

this one?

I won't be a buyer then....:p

Well, I have to give him credit as he did exactly what he said he was going to do.

Marco Zanini's first go at Halston is very Raf Simons for Jil Sandor meets Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein with a bit of Matthew Williamson on some of the bolder ensembles.

not what i expected at all but oh well.
NAP will sell just because of the hype....
I do like some pieces for their simple beauty though

That blue jumpsuit thing is one of the ugliest things I've seen in a while.

Not what I expected...I do not like this. I was expecting action! If this were for another label it might would be okay, but bho.

Can hardly find Halston from this collection.....more like Max&Co. hahaha!

...which is odd because those are what the public will see as the "new" Halston, and although I think the first shirt dress is okay, that gown has nothing to do with Halston as I know it. I figured they would sell something classical to tap into people's pre-conceived notions of Halston.

yikes...there's only a couple of dresses that i like, but other than that...not good.

I like it a lot.The shilouettes are perfect.I can imagine wearing these clothes and feeling great about myself

i love it!it is exactly for my taste.some pieces reminded me of Jil Sander a lot but great anyway..i would definitely wear these clothes but not in winter,in cool summer nights

I used to intern for Halston. They have been through more designers than enough. They are trying to find common ground between the classic Halston look and contemporary fashion. I personally like the line, but I loved what Bradely Bayou did for Halston.

Is Rachel Zoe trying to prove that she can make-under a brand as well as she can make-over some of her clients?

That's not necessarily a diss. Though I don't love it by any means, I am surprised by how intentionally austere the looks are. They're trying to make a point here...

Personally, I think Halston was overrated anyway.

And with all the attention and press and keeping in mind that they attempt to resurrect the house many times before, its completely understandable that they start out carefully.

I have to say, I am kind of curious to see where this is going...

^ basically these two from the runway (pics below, style.coM), where the shirt dresses have been modified to a wool jersey fabric rather than the silk jersey shown on the runway. apparently the items are ready for shipping at NAP; they are not pre-order items!

softgrey - you predicted one of the NAP items correctly! ^_^
