I need suggestions for a large bag primarily for use as a flight bag. Something big enough to carry all on flight essentials yet interesting enough to look chic. Compartments would be useful as well since i'll be carrying quite a few different things on board. The Louis Vuitton Deauville is about the size of what I'm looking for and is on the whole very similar in style to my ideal but I'm a bit adverse to it as I'm looking for something sans logoprint, preferably in a nice leather.

Thanks

Personally I love Dunhill. Though they're technically men's bags I tend to think they're unisex and the leather/quality is very good.

I need a suggestion for a metallic bag that can be worn to work, then out that same evening to entertain clients (theater or music venue). I would want a medium size bag to be able to hold all my stuff (small notebook, phone, wallet, 2 pairs of glasses, etc.). I've always steered away from metallics, (always reminded me too much of my mom and her friends in Florida!), so I'm totally clueless. My preference is satchel or shoulder. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. I'd like to keep it under $1,000, if possible, but right now, I'm more interested in learning about what's out there.

jimmy choo

burberry, ferragamo and ysl are all doing metallics.
most of them are probably not big enough for you, but just take a look anyways. :)

Ooh thanks for the rec Hebden! I'll definitely look into Dunhill, those bags look perfect!

Hello. I'm in the market to buy a new bag, as well, and was hoping for some advice. I'd been hoping for a Chanel but it seems it'll be a bit out of the price range I was looking at. I am a huge Dior and LV fan but I'd just purchased the new Dior Romantique bolster and the Dior vintage flower saddle not even 2 months ago..

I'm looking for a bag in the $900 range and something a bit bigger than the Dior bolster, perhaps something to have on my shoulder?.. I was looking at the LV monograme mini's Kathleen or Josephine but is it still too flashy?

Any suggestions?

Thanks Cloud9 for your responses :flower:
I've been searching the net to see what's out there. Unfortunately, when I'm not quite sure what I want, I tend to look keep looking so I'm sure I'm not missing anything that's out there.

Hi all, I'm considering getting this bag for my girlfriend, is this a cool bag?

I think there are better Dior bags to choose from...are you looking for a handbag or a shoulder bag? I prefer the medium detective bag to the flight bag because I think the detective looks classier and will probably last longer.

Foxie-Pooh, thanks for your input. I guess shoulder bag?... This Prada one is also in consideration, but I'm not sure if it's cool or not

Give us a few details about your gf, and then we can reccommend a good handbag for her? Age? Style? Favorite stores? Stuff like that. What types of bags does she own currently.

That Prada is boring.. and that Dior is ugly, IMO. There is definitely better out there.

She is 34, a hair stylist, does not have time to shop much. 5'8", thin, I guess her style is fairly casual, jeans & T-shirt w/ Y-3 or Prada sneakers for work; Going out is jeans & Ann Fontaine shirts w/ heels (chanel, manolo, prada, dior, LV... etc) Not much dress or skirt.

I snap a picture of her bags except the one she was using for work (BV brown).

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :flower:

Yea.... gonna have to say she'd probably love the Balenciaga classique.

Now that you guys mention it, that does shed some light. She got all those 8 bags within the last 12 months, she would wear a new bag for few month then I would never see it on her again. The bags from previous years are nowhere to be found  Seems like everyone has a balenciaga/chole bag, is it too late to get her one now? too trendy now?... I guess I should be looking for the up-coming trendy bag because she'll only use it for a short while anyways...

Hmm... I gonna have to agree with Luna and recommend the Balenciaga classique for your gf - it does seem like her style.

Besides there are currently a few colours to choose from, with black being the perennial classic that gets released every season.
