Handbag Recommendations

cchristina, don't know if this will help or not, but i have a white mj stella (a little longer and wider than the bags you posted, shorter and wider handle drops) and i find that for a white bag, so far hasn't really gotten that dirty. the bag itself is pretty heavy, though - the leather seems to be a bit "thicker" and the hardware is pretty heavy. mine fits over my shoulder so it's not a huge problem for me, but hand carrying it may be a pain (in more ways than one ;).. yikes, bad joke, sorry )

heyy
this is my first time posting here....im looking for a largeish plum leather bag and i found a lucky brand one that i love but my friend has it so thats a no
if you know of any cute ones under 200$ let me know!
thanks
<3

I have a black stella and I will love it till the day I die. The leather is amazing! It is on the heavy side and I rarely wear it over my shoulder because I have sloping shoulders, so it never stays put. Get a shoulder bag for sure!

Do a search on ebay. A lot of people post great pics and give really good descriptions. That's how I look for bags :)

After swearing off Louis Vuitton (too expensive, too mass-produced, too widely faked), I broke down recently and bought a black epi Alma bag (I have a rule that one should ultimately give in to irrational desires).

And you know what--It's a great bag! :woot:
Minimalistic, classic design. It's great for a business setting, because it's feminine without being fussy.
And it's lightweight, high-capacity, easy to get into and find stuff, and bulletproof. I wish I'd bought it years ago, when I first started wanting one.

:D

sling bag recommendations?

i really want one... i'm really more of a handbag or shoulder bag person, but lately I've been craving for a sling bag... i only want one... any recommendations for a nice sling bag? i want one that can be easily matched with any outfit.. i really need ur expertise...would appreciate it alot.. thanx...

I've seen some really cute ones at Yoox.com - you should go check them out.

Classic Gucci Bags/Wallets

I'm looking for a simply black or tan Gucci messenger bag and matching checkbook wallet, but am having a hard time finding sites that offer a wide range of Gucci products. What sites do you guys visit for Gucci items?

thanks shalu and drel39 :) I was just wondering if it was worth the trip to go to a marc jacob store if the leather look like what it does on the eluxury site. anyhow, since im completely open to suggestions...

can anyone recommend a bag in the 500-1000 range that i can use for everyday, no sequins or anything ilke that...i perfer leather..no fabric...maybe something smooth like what the lv and burberry bag has is okay since it'll be easy to clean. i like white...or blue...black is okay but not my first choice. I'm 20 years old, even though i want a "cute" bag but i also want something that looks a little more mature and structured. help please!! :D

Moving to handbag reccommendations, but the most versatile sling bag out there is the Faithfull bag by Allison Burns. www.allisonburns.com You can switch it to a sling bag or a hobo.

thanks for the suggestion :) i've never really liked those shape of bags though..i kind of like the more boxy/boston bag? I REALLY LOVE the gig bag on there though!

^CChristina, how about a bag from the LV Epi series?
It's something discreet, elegant which you can carry everyday.
In fact, I was thinking of the Jasmin since you mentioned that you like structured bags, plus it's available in blue!

TMaybe this has been posted before but I need help with handbags! My moto is you don't have to spend a lot to look great but I'm looking for a bag that won't go out of style to go out in and I'm willing to spend at most $300. Anyone have anysuggestions?

Christina -- the novak is structured and nice, and gucci has a nice structured bag in a variety of sizes and colors on their site.

I've already started thinking about what I want from my brother on New Years (I'm from Russia where New Years is the big holiday instead of hanucha and chirstmas), what typically happens is I make a list of what I want and my brother gets me something from there that w/o me knowing what it is so it's a surprise.

After my fendi spy purchase, I've been obsessed with big bags, but I dont mind smaller ones either like the chanel. My limit is about 1.5k and can prabably be stretched closer to 2k.

The only bag I have on my "wishlist" so far is the chanel 2.55 blakc patent bag. Any other ideas would be great :)

a lot of people are crazy about the epi..but somehow in pictures I dont find it that nice..i should make another trip to the louis vuitton store..i like the shape of that epi though.

guessgirl..novak? and omg ur so lucky your brother would buy you bags...my brothers thinks bags are a waste of $$..they usually give me $$..which i use to buy bags lol. I'm obsess about big bags too, I never liked small bags..the only small bag that I own was a burberry pochette (the bag that started the craze). I really like the size of the LV speedy 30..but then too many fakes..the spy bag is really nice..but too expensive. ARGGG..thanks for the suggestions though girls! :)

and *sigh* chanel...my goal is to own one of those before I graduate from college..need to hurry! all of the chanel bags look nice to me, but i particularly like the vintage ones..preferably in white :D
