I guess I do it that way because that's how my father did it But it's very effective. It reinforces the good creases, and helps "hang out" the bad ones.

Mettchen said:i have a lot of plain ones made from wood, bought in ikea. a year ago though i found a lot of knit-covered hangers at a flea market for almost no money and i bought them all. i started a small collection and i'm up to almost 50 now. they're not all exactly the same shape but i suppose that has its charm as well. also, i make my grandmother knit the covers for me (which means she's not knitting guest towels, which she had grown tired of ) , so the collection is constantly increasing.
..the picture shows a few of my hangers.
urd said:I don't care about hangers at all. I just hang the stuff on what is awaileble. most of my hangers I got for free (some are plastic Diesel ones, yay)
I just cleaned my closet, but my clothes are on the floor very often.. and I never iron them either... don't freak out now people, it's not designer!
Godot said:As I mentioned earlier I use wooden hangers on my coats but only because they are too heavy for wire/plastic ones. On my shirts I use wire exclusively. I do so not out of sloth or because wire hangers are part of the God's Plan (otherwise why would so many shirts find themselves on wire hangers). No I use wire because it will in some small way help save the rain forests. I use wire hangers because I care about the planet.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
