Harper’s Bazaar France April 2023 : Rianne van Rompaey by Alasdair McLellan

Lovely! I’m usually not a sucker for black and white pics but this is lovely.

If that's the actual print cover, I'm not fond of it, it feels like something made mainly for the internet, where basic fonts are thrown over a very average picture, and everyone involved thinks they've got a finished product.

Sloppiness? Laziness? Selling sweatshirts with your logo on them? Leave that to Vogue.

It's so bizarre to see Alasdair McLellan's name next to Harper's Bazaar. The pull of Lalanne is next level!

The actual cover is a bore if I'm honest. Just another Rianne van Rompaey edit. It's not saying anything or evoking any response, good or bad. For a new magazine, that's not where you want to be.

alasdair worked for us bazaar in 2005-2006. He shot with panos yiapanis, Katie grand and Brana Wolf. I recall At least 4 Eds, but there were more: with freja, Angela, marija, hana.

I watch too many Law & Order: SVU reruns but this looks like a dead body reveal to me.
Hahaha. Their intro has some accidental glamorous frame showing a crossed pair of legs wearing high heels, like a Helmut Newton shot. Of course it's too dark for fashion and the meaning of the show. I'm a fan of the show as well!

I like Rianne's story, even if it feels a bit déjà vu and lacks something to be really thrilling. Is there something else worth of interest in the magazine?

the cover would have been way better if she looked to the camera. That’s all I want to say, no words for the cover story.

Nothing groundbreaking here but Rianne is just such a treat to the eyes. I’ll never get tired of her beauty.
