Harper's Bazaar Australia December 2009 : Miranda Kerr by Simon Lekias

Great ed - is Christine Centenera the stylist for that? Mark Vassallo's work never really appeals to me (and he's always getting the cover...)

Hmm ckgirlbr I don't think that's in HB Australia December but I will double check.

The few times I looked at Harper's Bazaar Singapore, I didn't realise they had great editorials but it's been some time since I lived there, maybe I should have another look.

^ OMG I agree so much - Mark Vassallo's work leaves me cold, did he at one point do alot of work for Follow? I hated that as well.. :ninja:

Love Alexandra's ed though - stunning styling and photography

Yep Mark did used to be at Follow - I think he was the one who launched it or at least was heavily involved when it first started. I remember back then his look was all the same - highly glossy, highly photoshopped, highly stylised. I don't find his work very 'girl friendly' if you know what I mean, they're aggressive but not in a very 'edgy' way but in a very OTT way. But everyone else seems to love Mark and he's obviously been given all the plum editorials to style, so maybe they know something we don't!

^ cicciolina - mark styled the where the wild things are editorial, i was shocked too because i usually find his work is brash and not to my taste. however he did a really good job with that editorial, and i have to give credit where credit is due. although it pains me to do so haha... i'm not his biggest fan. this issue is another harpers issue where mark styled all but 1 shoot. He style the cover, the prada by the sea editorial (typical mark) and this one. christine styled the other ed, 'white summer' or something like that.

Thanks Peachescream, I'm pleasantly surprised them. Hopefully his other editorials move more into this direction as well. I stand corrected then, he did a really good job

There's a rumour going around that Claudia Navone has been let go...

I concur, credit where credit is due - loved the styling on the Where the Whild Things Are editorial :flower:

Cicciolina - that's exactly what I thought of his Follow work as well (a big part of the reason I never really liked the magazine in the first place!), it was rather brash and mechanical, the models looked like harsh mannequins as opposed to looking alive. It just seemed almost arrogant and forceful to me.

I hope claudia hasn't been let go, but i can't really see of any other outcome... she hasn't been doing much work at all recently - mark is getting all the major coups and christine is styling really beautifully, as well as being a great advertisement for the mag what with all her street style photos...

Re: Christine and her street style photos. I wonder if this has any affect on the magazine themselves - I think it has brought more attention to her work and the magazine itself as well, but do they even notice or care?

So Claudia didn't have any editorials in this month did she?
