I think Hedi lives in areas of Paris where people aren’t simply to photograph him….
So likely a neighborhood he knows.
But back to the Hedi/Chanel conversation. I truly believe (and I’m maybe naive about it) that if Hedi indeed leaves Celine, is to be out of fashion design.
Chanel is still the ultimate job in fashion because it’s the most important and iconic fashion brand in the world. But the approach of Hedi and his frustration has always been about having a 360 kind of vision.
He has achieved what he wanted all those years at Celine.
For me, when you are that talented and ambitious, this is the level of « control » you aspire to. For those who are really designers at heart, they can go on and do something else and be focused on design.
For me Hedi is really an Art Director at heart.
Celine is the dream he created for himself.
I wonder if anything higher exists.
