Except Karl was a weeeee bit better at adapting his perspective at each brand than Hedi, who can only do variations of HEDI BY HEDI SLIMANE.

Just say you're good at denim jfc
Praying for men to stick to straight pants. I do love a flare velours tuxedo though. On a tall man, it always looks right. Are we going to really see flare in the streets ?
So Pharrell is the true visionnary in those 2020s ?
I’m also confused…The vibe of Hedi's latest post is very confusing. I try not to read too much into this but but this seems to be the first time he talks about his garments on his personal instagram page...which seems a little odd and desperate
And I honestly don't get the hoopla over those flares...I have a version of them from Celine and personally love them but not sure if they are doing Mr Lamar any favors (besides generating headlines I guess...)
This whole "cultural moment" around a normal, if nice, pair of jeans feels particularly contrived. 'Wardrobe malfunction' levels of contrived. It's also interesting that Hedi's Celine finally has a moment in the U.S. after he left the company, but before any non-Hedi stuff has dropped. The vibe of Hedi's latest post is very confusing. - He probably watches The Super Bowl HT show.I have so many questions...
Hedi watches the Super Bowl?
Who from Celine tipped him off about Kendrick Lamar?
Did he use his Celine copywriter to write his own caption...in third person?
Does Hedi manage and write his own instagram content?
Thank you! I think Hedi’s “vision” is too oppressive for houses like Armani and Chanel, etc. While Hedi is very rigid in his design rather than a celebration of beauty or grace.
that's why exactly i think his work stay on the edge of modern because going too sexy makes it banal and in AV YSL and balmani cheapness ...as hedi is already commercial so it's the right balance to not indulge into the sexy because the glamour play he does all the time even if it's always toned down via set or no makeup or the type of girl etc or pose even.I’m just curious about 1 little thing: Hedi doing sexy and Glamorous comes from where? Some kind of allegiance to what Tom Ford did at Gucci?
Because why would Hedi suddenly change all his design ethos to suit a brand when everything he has done was the way around?
I think the only time I have ever find his work sexy was when he did the slick campaign with Anja Rubik for Saint Laurent in 2013 or his first stint at YSL in the 90’s.
Hedi maybe the master of cool but he is really anti-sexy for me. And when he do try the sexy route, they looks like groupies. There’s no sensuality in his work even though he likes to play with ambiguity.
just to give it context : Kendrick Lamar is good at his craft he is not just any rapper and speaks of important issues as well.I had to Google Kendrick Lamar to know who the hell is (another rapper...wow!). 😴 As exciting as those generic flare jeans...
I hate hip-hop/rap...so for me it sounds all the same (a guy talking quickly with some automatic tune over it).just to give it context : Kendrick Lamar is good at his craft he is not just any rapper and speaks of important issues as well.
he is not generic by any means. of course if one doesn't listen to rap, Mozart or Beethoven or chopin sound all the same.
No, it sounds the same because I don´t like hip-hop/rap...I can´t with it. Love jazz, bossa-nova, glam-rock, new-wave...but I can´t stand hip-hop/rap.^ it sounds the same because you're uninitiated my boy.
