you're very welcome Multitudes
Cindus, I still cannot find any of 94 and 95 anywhere online.
but once there was a little corner lang store in a department store called parco.
I just found postcards from them.
you can see one look from S/ S 94 on it.
I'll post it later.
in my opinion his work arond 93/94 was a landmark, even though it was not at his peak yet.
I personally see lots of fragments around there which were to be developed later into the staples of the rest of the 90's.
A/ W 94 was a very cool collection with some quiet punk elements scattered.
but it didn't arrive in stores because the manufactory was burnt down.
after that, Onward was to back him up until Prada years.
Onward prepared larger operations, e.g. gibo etc, for lang's potential.
before Onward, it had not been largely distrubuted, although there were lots of lang enthusiasts. if anything it was often categorized as a cult label (or even Gen X).
his suits had been about $700, jackets and coats $400-700 in those days.
the new suits by gibo were over $1200 while the suits from CCP's capsule prior to the first were $600 then. it felt expensive to most of the customers. but it didn't stop them from selling out.
then S/ S 96, the lace collection, was a great hit.
Helmut Lang seemed to cross the threshold.
and its golden days seemed to start (maybe for the end of the century).
