And the Helmut Lang suit is definitely something special...Dior might have the slimmer, more rock n roll suits, and Dolce & Gabbana has the playboy thing goin on, but to me the Helmut Lang suit is the epitome of modern urban cool. I always wanted a Helmut Lang khaki suit like the one my dad has.

Prada doesn't care about the vision and integrity of their labels. It doesn't matter to them who designs the label. They see them as just brand names. They're just interested in using them to create bottomline products which they can't sell under the Prada name. Detestable!

I don't see who would appreciate a piece from Helmut Lang not designed by him. Wouldn't it be lame? I really don't see the point. At least they could have just ended off the brand right away instead of throwing Helmut out and continuing the brand.

I didn't know about any of this. I was seriously wondering what happened to Helmut Lang this season. I was looking all over. Why would he sell to Prada? Was he that bad off? I am annoyed b/c I really liked his stuff. No one knows what's going to happen now, do they?

Very true, he shouldn't have been with Prada in the first place and now see his whole empire be "destructed by his own hands" (ahem ). But there are a lot of "advantages" (marketing and financially wise) to be part of the Prada group. But aside from that, it's all negative. See what happens now?
