Help With What to Wear to a Costume or Themed Party

I know you said you didn't have any suits, but I bet it would be cheap to find "normal" suits, instead of a purple velvet one. For the ho I would wear a suit jacket with a pencil skirt and heels, some sort of blingy fake jewelry, and either wear nothing under the jacket, or pretend to be wearing nothing under the jacket. For the Pimp, if you wanted to be a lady pimp, I would wear probably the same thing, maybe swap skirt for trousers, put a shirt under the jacket, maybe some glasses or sunglasses. I would put the hair back in a tight bun thingy, and probably carry a briefcase. Add bling at own discretion? I guess it's not very *obvious* pimp/ho but at least you could wear the clothes again! (sorry if this post reads funny, I'm in a rush to get to el dentiste)

I'm hoping you can throw some ideas at me! I'm going to a jungle themed party and I have a feeling everyone will be going in Tarzan and Jane type gear...but I really want to go as a lion...but still look cute!

I was thinking of wearing black leggings with a big yellow t-shirt on top (and a circle patch for the stomach). But I'd rather make something a bit more creative if someone has a better suggestion!! I'm going to paint my face and I have a tail I might be able to borrow off a friend. But does anyone have any idea have to make a mane? Or what else I could do?

You could dress like a sassy Jane Goodall! Hmm...perhaps Jane from Tarzan is based on Jane Goodall...? The lion thing sounds cool, but I would go as a leopard or something because I don't think lions live in the jungle. Maybe you could dress really modern and say you're from the urban jungle?

I'm going to a cocktailparty next month and I just wanted to see if you guys have any ideas for what I could wear? It's a canapés and champagne party with jazzmusic playing in the background... (That's what it said on the invitation anyway.) So I was wondering if I have to wear a long dress, or if I could wear something like this? I would hate to buy a long dress that I'll never wear again and I would also feel uncomfortable all night if I wore it.

So? Any ideas?

I don't see why not? It's very classic and Audrey Hepburn. If you're worried that you'll be underdressed maybe you can add a diamonte necklace, and do your hair up? Channel your inner Audrey!

I think that would be appropriate. It's an adorable dress. If you were going for black, I'd wear something like that or maybe just a black, low V neck cocktail-y dress. If it's a cocktail invitation, then it should obviously be somewhat dressy. Like mesmeri said, if you're afraid of being underdressed, pull your hair into a chignon and wear some dramatic earrings & a ring or something.


Just a a tip - you could always call the host & tell him/her what you planned on wearing & ask if that's appropriate & if not what she recommends. I hope that helped a bit. :]

Thanks guys! I'll def. call the hostess and ask her what she thinks. It's not as big of a deal as it sounds, but I still want to fit it somewhat. Even though it sounds a bit stupid.
