Amazing. His work for this house really exceeds his work at his own label. Gaultier's problem is that he usually lets the theme of his collection overwhelm the clothes themselves, and, unfortunately, that has been happening at his house. Here, the clothes are front and center, and instead of letting them be circumscribed by the notions of a theme, he stretches the theme itself, tailors exquisite pieces around it, embraces it and challenges it at the same time. I will miss him at Hermes so much!
