Hermès Scarves

Today, I just buy a long silk shawl in beige color with people pattern in deep red color!! :woot: It's a see-through one (like chiffon) and very light! I think it should be good for spring / summer!!

Is it mousseline silk, size 140cm x 140cm?

I love them as they are very lightweight and can be folded really small.

I'm not sure if it's the musselin silk as the musselin silk scarf that the SA showed me was lighter weight and more sheer than my shawl. However, it can be folded into a very small piece and stuffed in my handbag easily. :flower:

I'm not sure about the exact size, but my shawl is not a square one. It's rather a long one, like pashmina style. So apart from wrapping around my shoulders, I plan to use it as a belt when I wear jeans and pants (with belt loops)!! ^_^

Yup, I think its the musselin. I have it in the smaller version. They are so nice and sheer ;)
But I am always paranoid about spoiling them because thy look so delicate !
So the silk scarves are still better for me !!

Yes, the musselin silk is so easy to be damaged or ripped!

Actually I like both materials (silk and musselin silk) as each of them gives different look and feeling! And I'm happy that Hermes does come up with several versions of scarves and shawls for us to enjoy! ^_^

I have a large green one with colored pencils all around the border that says A Vous Crayons, and a black one with gold fireworks on it. Each one is a spectacular piece of art that I just treasure. I also have 7 Twillys, they are just too fun. I always think that with the money I have spent on them I could have two more of the large scarves, but I love them too much to not have them!

Not a problem at all!! I always mis-spell the words when posting in this thread, my spelling check feature just doesn't really work well!! :p

Goya, your scarfes are truly beautyful, esp. the second one! How big are those?

Does anyone have pictures of themself wearing their scarfes?

And btw, is it any way to have the text on www.hermes.com in english instead of french?

Thanks.

I went to the H store today and when the manager opened some drawers with scarves my eyes popped when I saw a gorgeous mousseline shawl in off-white with burgundy print.

He took it out and showed me every single detail of the shawl.

"See, this is the 'Toile d' Hermès'. It is a scene in Paris! Here, you have a lady with a HAC. There is a Birkin. At the corner is a belt." And he went on and on about the design.

He also said put it on a mannequin with a white shirt and explained to me that the shawl would work best with a white background to accentuate the design. He added that maybe I should come back another day with a white shirt and try on the shawl again. Of course, I couldn't wait another day as the design was really beautiful. We also tried on different ways of tying it and found a modern interpretation by slinging it across my body.

I bought the shawl and asked whether I should store it in the box. He said that I should just gently fold it in my armoire to let the fabric breath.

Here is a photo of my new mousseline shawl "Toile d' Hermès". This is just a tiny part. The shawl is long and with many prints.

Wow, gorgeous!! I love those prints, they remind me of the antique spanish china that my mum has from my grandma. Really classy.

LaVan, will you please post pictures when you wear it? I love how you make your Hermes look casual!

La Vanguardia! Congratulation, your new scarf is juct perfection! :flower:

I love your new musselin shawl and its details, La Van!!! The color of our mussellin shawls are very similar, but mine has different pattern and does not look as soft as yours.

Thanks guys!

Artemisa - I'll post pics of me wearing it when I get back home. I'm currently in Germany.
