Dania Ramirez ("The Sopranos") has been added as a regular on the NBC Universal TV Studio series, which is returning for a second season in the fall. Ramirez will play Maya, a new hero whose powers are being kept under wraps.
Maya is one of four to five new characters expected to be added to "Heroes" next season, but her character might be the only regular one. The other roles, most of which are said to have international flavor, include a sexy boyfriend for Claire (Hayden Panettiere), a 28-year-old black mother, a surrogate for Niki's (Ali Larter) son and an Irish mobster (HR 5/24).

Honestly, I'm downright giddy to be breaking the news to you that David Anders—known as the wonderfully sinister and sexy Sark to
Alias fans—is joining the cast of
Heroes!
Though NBC has not yet announced it, my
Heroes moles tell me it's official: Anders has been given the much coveted series-regular role of Kane, a Sark-ish character who just so happens to be 1,000 years old, for the upcoming second season of
Heroes. I'm told Anders starts work on the show on Monday.

"Mori said she is hoping to devote herself to her new role -- which includes acting as a spokeswoman for AIDS issues -- and is also looking for a possible role on the TV series "Heroes," broadcast by NBC, which has rights to the Miss Universe pageant.
"As soon as I won Miss Universe I had this big chance," she said. "I've never acted before. I went to the casting audition and read a script in English and Japanese, and they said it was really good. So I hope I can be in the show." Mori said her role would be "Yaeko," a love interest for one of the main characters.
