depends on which Hijab you are talking about. Some are one piece, while others are about 2 meters and wrapped.

You mean the ones that cover the body? Some are OK, but I def. like the plain head scarves best. What do you think about the niqab? It really creeps me out!

And oh yeah, hijab can refer to the entire "modest dress" right?

funny enough, I just had made a presentation in my textiles class and I chose Hijabs as my final product... I had a bunch of little heads and wrapped them with the 7 diffrent fabrics I chose.
It went over really well and I learned quite a lot of about it al since my friend from saudi arabia helped me a bit. She was saying how if you go to the middle eat you would be suprised by how many deisgner name brands create outifts and scarves, and how crazy evpensive the are

I think that is an interesting look a would like to see more colorful fabric for the scarf. Perfect is like Eva Green in Kingdom of Heaven, that's just gorgeous. I'll try and find a pic of her from that movie.

Post 191 I love. It's interesting how some people in North America say that those women must feel so repressed because they have to cover up like that and then yet you talk to them and they don't even think about it. She's beautiful and very stylish! I wish I could pull that off.

There are some forms of al-Hijab which are pretty repressive. Look at the Burqa it doesn't even have an opening.

^ The burqa gives me the creeps! And it's true, many women are forced to wear the burqa or some of the more "repressive" versions. I like the hijab because it can be modernized and updated. So a woman can practice her religion and still look put together and stylish. THe burqa is just way too much.
