i wish i could wear head scarves myself, i find them so exotic..
i like the scarve look with or without heavy khol make up,
with plain face, it looks angelic and pure, with heavy eye make up it looks real mysterious and promising

even thought i'm so attracted to this look it's impossible for me to adapt since its a cultural issue

I was raised in the Christian tradition, very fundamentalist, and was required to have long hair and dress a certain way, although never to the degree I see many Muslim women dress. Today I do not have long hair & fairly frequently dress in a way that would not be approved by the people I grew up with (although no one in my family still abides by those rules either). Based on this it bothers me to see women/girls doing things I think may not be their choice, so I always appreciate hearing discussions like this that remind me that many times it is your choice, for a variety of reasons.

I'd like to know as well! I just don't have the cojones to do it during the daytime here. I fear that I 'll look extremely silly.

I do like the whole Arab theme, but I don't really like the face covering for Al-Hijab, it is just a bit too much for me.

I guess I kinda like the face converings if they are made of a very translucent material. I don't like al-niqaab, that's way too extreme for anyone. IMO

The whole thing would work best as eveningwear if designed and themed properly. With bright vibrent colors.

I ADORE the first look. I think that would be a good way for a Western woman to wear it; pair it with a modern skirt and pointy flats. It looks very chic.

^ I think the first is meant to be a hijab, and I saw the second one posted again on Face Hunter and it really was a hijab. She had her entire face covered.

And the first pic I posted from Dansk is a designer hijab, no?

Well, depends on your defenition of Hijaab. Al-Hijab just really means head-scarf, in a lot of cultures. But it changes all over the world.

And a turban is just really for dudes.

^ Thanks for the info. Yeah, I've been researching and there really is nothing to distinguish a hijab and a scarf. It simply means "cover", it is just something to cover you head. It's essentially a piece of cloth meant to hide your head for religious practice/modesty. That's why those looks appear to be scarves, they are, but they're hijabs as well if they're worn for a specific purpose.

I also learned there's no specific way to wear a hijab. There's traditional, typical styles but you can wear it however you want as long as the proper parts are covered. I prefer a pinned forehead myself, but the looser styles are nice as well.

I don't know exactly why I'm attracted to this. Where I live is nothing like Europe or Canada or even some parts of the US; I've never actually seen a Muslim in person. Therefore I've never seen anyone wearing a hijab. I know Middle Eastern people, but they're all Christians and are VERY modern in their dress. I think it's very mysterious and I understand the modesty of it all. It would be interesting for me to wear it, given that my hair is kind of my "pride and joy" (as far as physical attributes go lol). I would love to try it, but I'm afraid that might not be a good idea given where I live.

how do u wear a hijab???
im not a muslium myself but im interested in wearing one...because i find the whole concept is interesting (is that a right word?) but also it gives me more option to wear thing (yay more variation) i do know an afghani friend who is muslim... but she doesnt wear hijab (at least i nvr seen her in it), so it would be weird if i ask her that///
and is it ok to wear hijab as a part of fashion?!?!
