Honey

Honestly do what you think is best for you! I am not the honey queen :P and if I was you should only go as far as your willpower will take you. As for sweetened yoghurt, I never touched it even when I had sugar. Chocolate is more my weakness. But Greek Yoghurt and manuka honey is far far better tasting that any chocolate. You should see the concoction I drink. I use GMO free soya milk in naturally decaffinated (without the use of chemicals) coffee with a spoon of honey! Coffee lovers will be aghast but I love it. I have lived my whole life without caffeine so I only really drank coffee for the sweetness anyway. Honey does the trick for me.

You know what I think with regards to my sugar free regime? (Bear in mind I had a proper sugar problem. I couldn't go a day without chocolate) I think going two weeks without any sugar or sweetners (stevia is ok I hear. Aspartame is lethal) was necessary to get it out of my system and get rid of the cravings (they are gone now) and then if I accidentally ate something with aspartame or ate a bit of dark chocolate -fine.

If you can get of dates (Egyptian Medjool dates are really soft and gorgeous) also really ease the cravings but make sure no sugar has been added to them.

WARNING: You might put on some weight because you will eat more of other stuff to deal with the lack of sugar but weight you can lose and then you will be sugar free for a lifetime.

I love how when people are arguing a point they always conveniently have some former affiliation with the subject, e.g. "I studied Bio Chemistry!". Not saying it's untrue but isn't it amazing how many Bio Chemists or Rocket Scientists are lurking around the web waiting for an argument on say, Honey or the Back to the Future movie to really utilise their 7 years of expensive and extensive study?

:P oh I know you're no expert, I'm just looking for an opinion, and that helped.:flower: The yogurt I used to eat was activia, because the bacteria in it always worked really well with my body. I keep forgetting to get some greek yoghurt...so I went and finally got some today, and it was fantastic! I mixed in some blueberries too, for antioxidants.
For the weight, nothing has happened yet, but I rather gain some now and take it off then wait until I'm in my 40s or something of that sort where sugar contributes too much to weight gainand it will be harder to take it off.
My body seems to be cooperating with this no honey regiminem, it's as if it knows I'm trying to help it.

Good idea misssakura! Did you know I am a polymath? I am a biochemist-poet-doctor-angel. Tis a hard hard life for me.

What about maple syrup? Is that any better than refined sugar?

100% natural maple syrup is much better than aunt jemima varieties. It does taste different, but then it's natural and maybe something you can use on breakfast before going to the gym (because it's just carbs)

I may be wrong though
