How do you organize your closet?

I might add - the shoes in my closet are grouped (kind of) by black shoes, colorful shoes, etc... the rest are in NO ORDER whatsoever

Okay when I finally get a picture of my closet up it's old.. lol My closet looks much better than the picture now I have it more organized and everything. In the top shelf I keep all my LUCKY magazines which I love. The plastic boxes up top are some of my shoes. I'll have to take a new picture. I want a movie star closet where they have the cool shelves for their shoes and purses but hey I'm workin with what I have, also my closet is more color cordinated now.

Need smart ideas for wardrobe

I am renovating my room…and I need some sparkly ideas on how to store my handbags, shoes and clothes …what type of wardrobe? Any pictures or ideas? You can all share with me? Maybe if you could post your room picture with the wardrobe that would be great : )

We already have some similar topics that could help you out regarding this topic...

Basically if you have enough space to keep all the shoes you have in shoeboxes, taking polaroids of them and sticking them on a visible area of the box is a great idea... if not, clear rubbermaid boxes are great too..

Color coordinating is also good, but it's such a pain to keep in order, esp. when you're picking an outfit and you're short of time..

Also, storing your seasonal clothes is good to save up space and makes it easy for you to go through your clothes that you would wear in whatever season you're in.

Handbags are good to be put in their dustbags, or at least store them in some cloth bag or something so they don't get ruined while sitting on the closet, and taking a polaroid pic and sticking it on the dustbag is also great for you to figure out what you have there...

That's all I can think of for now...

my sister took pictures of all her shoes and made it into a mini-album..
i thought she was insane at first but its actually quite helpful when you want to put an outfit together .. kinda better than the polaroid-box thing because with an album you get to flip through and look at all the pieces at once.

I'm not sure if I should post here or in the other thread....sorry.


Anyway, I've just had a wardrobe specially built including a shoe rack. I used to keep my shoes in their boxes with polaroids on front, but it drove me crazy when I was in a hurry (which is most of the time ). Now they have their own special cupboard with sloping racks so they are all on display and easy for me to access. I could post a piccy when I get home if you like.

Here's a pic before it was completely finished. It's basically just pieces of timber for the shoes to rest on with a slight slope. Each shoes rests on 2 pieces, under the heel and toe. I have a heavy curtain across it now to keep the shoes dust-free. I love it.

the "pics on the outside of the shoe box" is such a timesaver. the problem is keeping it updated when new shoes purchases sprout up like mushrooms in my closet!
