well, my problem is that i love wearing kohl at the bottom of my eyes (even if it makes them smaller than they are already XD) but it never stays on long, when i come home from school after 8 hours it's already gone or blurred. is there any way to make it stay on longer?

ive never tried any of these but ive heard pretty good reviews on them

or you just switch to a gel eyeliner, which imo, looks the same as a kohl and lasts almost all day

^What is that!???!

I'd like to find a good eyeliner as well, I have tons of MAC eyeliners and they all fade away and smudge... Especially the black one....... That's why I sort of stopped believing in eyeliner....

It sort of a God, the God of makeup products for this winter! ;)

I know this is crazy, but I heard that using a PEN is better than an eyeliner.. I never tried it though... :ninja:

You make it sound like a god! :p
 (waving to strawberry d) How you is?

I think Morganalestrange:p was asking about eyeliner that will last on the inner rim of the eye, correct? If so, Prestige makes THE BEST waterproof eyeliners. They are about 3 bucks at the drugstore and they are dark, they last and do not smudge much!

Benetint's She-lac (in post 2) is a pretty good m/u sealant- it really does make eyeliner last until you take it off. But DO NOT use She-laq to line your inner rims- it would burn, burn, burn and maybe worse! I mix a little She-laq with cream eyeliner or shadow to line the upper eye- but never the inner rim! Please trust me . . . Also, Ben Nye's Liquiset (which you can find at a theatre supply store) is about 10x cheaper and works the same or better! The packaging is not as cute, though^_^

What? Like an actual ink pen? Or are you talking about a pencil liner instead of liquid liner?

Here's a crazy trick I picked up from a couple of goths back in the day, use hairspray. Yup, that's right, hairspray. Use a tiny bit over where your liner is (or where your eyeshadow is also). Just be sure to keep your eye closed, because it hurts like a b*tch if it gets in your eye. It also keeps your makeup in place if you sweat.

Have you tried L´Oreal Super Liner?

I love it! It lasts long and the colour remains shiny even after it´s dry.

Or for a long lasting eye pencil, i would go for L´Oreal Contour Resist, wich is like a khol but it´s drier, so it stays put!

Anyway, for anything that is creamy, it´s allways best to use some powder on the eyelids first to prevent smudging, because the skin oils/sweat will eventually make all creamy makeup melt and smudge.

Khol is meant to be the smoothest and creamiest of the eye pencils, so it´s just natural to melt (the best ones, like the Lancome khol) are the best because of these characteristics.
And khol is very sexy in my opinion, because of the way it blends up to the skin and it never looks dryinsh, and the more hours you have it on, usually makes it look better than after you have just apllied it. :)

drexl, that's too funny, I immediately thought of using fixative but thought, who would want to spray fixative on their face? But hairspray is fixative... nice tip.

That´s just sick!
Using hairspray in the eye area is really harmful because of all the nasty ingredients in it, beeing the main one alcohol!!!!

There is one thing i don´t get though....
Make up is not supposed to be something that lasts forever, so if you need you have to reapply, and it´s just that simple.
For someone who loves to look good isn´t that much of a trouble is it?

Please don't do this-- you could damage your eye very badly. The burning is happening for a reason:cry: <<not good.

And Kimhuu- I love lancome kohl pencils, too- they have the best consistency, but are too creamy for the inner rim of the eye. True kohl (which you can get in powder or stick form at most Indian markets) looks great - AND IS SAFE - but doesn't have much staying power.

Yeah, it's not really recommended, hence my warning about keeping the eye closed (I forgot to say not on your tearduct as well).

see I have the same problem, I've bought the cheapest at walgreens to more expensive eyeliners and none of them work for me, all I want is something that will stay for the few hours we're out at the bar dancing thats it. I'm thinking maybe it's time to give up on the black eye liner :(

~and I wear mine on my inner lid, but if I dont I get this odd space of like eye liner and then lid. Maybe I'm just putting it on wrong

 i luv estee lauder's liner (not liquid), it's wonderful, i usually apply it on the top or bottom of my eyes, it depends, but your eyes should be reasonably dry, or you won't get that nice dark line
