Sometimes the oddest things get hyped by fashion mags. Is there someone/something particular you don't care for?

I hate this outfit but it's in every (British) magazine

i think Bear will yell at me for overloading the servers if I list everything hyped up that I despise

Some of my "favorites" (I will use names instead of labels, because something like Chanel used to be cool, but now they make tennis balls for $100)

Group 1:

Marc Jacobs,Karl Lagerfeld,Tom Ford,Galliano, Ghegeresque (butchering his name, Balenciaga), Stella McCartney

Group 2:
Hilfiger, Lauren, Varvatos,Donna Karan

Group 3:
Von Dutch,Uggs,Juicy

anyway, the list goes on and on and on...

I hated Tommy Hilfiger in high school. I refused to wear any of his clothes because they were cheap and simple with a logo that made the price skyrocket.

i find most designer bags & shoes terribly hyped :ninja:

btw, i dont mind the shirt but those high waist jeans are plain

My overhyped list would be the following:

1. Tom Ford
2. Stella McCartney
3. Proenza Schouler
4. John Galliano
5. Nicholas Ghesquiere

I am so tired of constantly reading about them in every fashion magazine. They make it seem as if no others designers have any talent or merit.

I agree with Lena about the bags and shoes.

To be honest I like the Chloe outfit in the first photo. I hate low-rise (let me get a brazilian :yuk: ) pants/trousers and was happy to see those jeans! :flower:

I think Chalayan is just a bit pretentious not really hyped--I think the attention he's recieved has been genuine, non?

My list:

i am surprised no one has mentioned chanel...you cannot open a magazine without seeing the quilted bag, the tweedy coat, pictures from the runway, or that TRENCH over and over and over

yes, sex & the city i agree, can't see whats all about, honestly :ninja:

great hyped designers list scott , so many more we could add

In no particular order...

Dior, Heatherette, Balenciaga, Stella McCartney, Dolce and Gabanna, Lanvin

Not hyped enough...

Behnaz Serapfour (spelling?), Blumarine, and Matthew Williamson

Dior, Dsquared(yes yes, they're fresh and fun, but there's just too many segments on TV about them!!!), Dolce & Gabbana, Galliano and Marc Jacobs(for awhile there, I could not open up any celebrity magazine without mentions of Marc Jacobs and his wearable clothes --- in an interview I was surprised to hear that even he got a little fed up with being too mainstream and adopted by these celebs... and thus we got the mod collection of last year.)
