"I GOT IN!" ... Announce acceptance of your Fashion School Appications here.

^Congrats!!!

Just took the SAT today. It was surprisingly easy. Applying ED to NYU in a month...

I have a 3.92GPA, SAT not sure yet but I've been getting around 2100-2200 on practice tests... It just sucks though, cause I'm an international student. My chances are instantly lowered. :(

khaotickharma, don't sell yourself short...
harvard/yale/princeton are like the only schools that will basically trash your application if you don't have near-perfect SATs (unless, of course, you have cured cancer or done something else truly phenomenal).

That is so true. Though on the other hand they reject stereotypical "robots" too. This girl back in high school had a weighted GPA of 4.6, perfect sat scores, perfect subject test scores, perfect AP exam scores, a zillion extra curricular (and a leadership position in almost all of them), sports & varsity stuff that I don't care for... She even went to the Myanmar/Thailand border to do some volunteer work this summer. Won that SAT scholar award thingy (#1). She's an overachiever in everything....

She got rejected by all the ivies, waitlisted at UChicago and accepted to her safety... Georgetown.

Have faith :flower:
I hope we'll see an "I GOT IN" announcement of yours on this thread in the next few months

Georgetown a safety  Last time I heard it was extremely prestigous.. I know its not ivy league but its considered one of the elite schools in USA.. it'd be like a reach , maybe not a super reach though.

Don't worry dear  Your GPA and SAT seem to be quite good , especially since the people I've seen get accepted had a lower SAT/GPA :flower: but then again they made up for it with the extra curriculars and an impressive resume  Though thats not an attack on you at all , it just goes to show college are looking for well rounded individuals+good grades , and I'm sure your both so good luck :flower:

^Actually, Georgetown so far has shown so easy for people (well the people I know :P) to get in. My brothers app was nowhere close to the robot-girl's app and he received a $20,000 scholarship. (He chose to go to Berkeley though, which I find a big mistake) My friends think its a lot easier to get into Georgetown than NYU because there have been too many cases of accepted by Georgetown but rejected by NYU. I think it might be because they're looking for international students...

Ohh thank you! I'm SO nervous, what kind of ECs did they have? I don't think I'm too worried about my ECs because I've got a strong record and a lot of job experience... It's just the SAT and GPA I'm worried about :( All my buddies at stern had 2400s and a 4+ gpa... I think I'll just go for CAS

Are you in college right now, or anxiously nervous like me?

NYU has a way [apparently] thats it more friendly towards its residence but it has a great name and a great alumni so I guess its pretty popular :flower:
I suppose I always thought georgetown was far more prestigous in terms of elitism but thats just me  :flower: Congrats to your brother though ,Georgetown is considered quite prestigous :woot::heart:

Don't be worried seriously :flower: Your GPA + SATS is quite good :flower:
especially seeing some stats of students Dartmouth accepted but their record/essays/reccomendations were EXTREMELY strong :flower:

I'm just a nervously anxious, not in college/an international student but obsessive compulsively researching colleges
:P

you can find a list of the STATS/RESUME of people who got accepted into the eight ivy leagues below , thats where I got my information from , I think its pretty interesting because you can see the stats of people who got accepted/rejectted/waitlisted and compare it with yourself ^_^ .. even though its not NYU stats it will give us students an idea of the standard , so you shouldnt really worry dear :flower::heart:
