"I GOT IN!" ... Announce acceptance of your Fashion School Appications here.

Since when did you not have to pay anything back? I go to school in Canada and everything needs to be paid by yourself. If you get a government loan it all needs to be paid back too as soon as you're finished once interest kicks in.
But the good thing is that tuition is pretty low from 4000, but I know some people who pay a little over 8000 for commerce.

Congratulations to everyone!

I meant that the $7000-8000 has to be paid by the student - either by taking a loan or from your own funds. Not everyone takes a loan. If one does not take a loan there's nothing to pay after your education is complete.

I'm still waiting for my school to submit marks.....
My teachers have calculated the final grades for first semester, but it takes the administration a while to do the report cards and only after that will they send in marks..
probably another week or so until it's done..
I'm expecting a reply from Ryerson by the end of the month,.. but U of T waits until May! Some unis will start asking for money around then..

Does it count if I'm applying for a semester as an exchange student ?

I can't wait to get replies from Lyon, Brussels, Paris and Claremont Colleges (Scripps and CMC actually) ... I mean my documents aren't even complete yet (it's different than applying for college independantly, since I'm just doing a semester "abroad"), but I should know by the end of February so I'm getting the same kind of feeling as you guys!! :woot:

I got into FIT in NYC and La Salle in Montreal...Tuition at FIT willlll kill me ...and after contacting a few magazines they assured me that going to FIT or La Salle would really make no difference, thats its all about being the best where you are! So i think I am going to do La Salle then intern in NYC:smile: I already have my BA with a major in Marketing - now its time to continue my DREAMMMM of businesss in the FASHION world...yay!

Let me know what you think about the two schools (LaSalle&FIT) THX:smile:

If you don't want to get into fashion design, go to Lasalle. Seriously, it's not worth getting into a LOT of debt if you want to get into merchandising. The only difference will be the connections you make, but Lasalle being a smaller school (I think?), maybe you'll get to know the right people there...

Anyway, I'd say from a financial POV, go to Montréal. And since you have a BA already, it can probably help you land a strong internship / job after you're done with your fashion education  Of course you have to fight hard to get into the industry, but knowing how much FIT will cost you as an international student, I just don't think it's worth it!!!

If you want to get into design however, my reasoning might not be accurate as I have no idea how the programs compare, but if you want to get into merchandising or whatever else, I'm pretty sure you'll do fine with a degree from Lasalle ^_^ Your wallet will thank you

I got an offer from the University of Leicester, to do Law.

I'm so happy because it's one of my first choices  Still waiting for replies from other universities though.

Can I ask you what program and semester you applied for? I have friends who are waiting around for FIT as well, and getting very anxious. ^_^

it seems to be sooo exciting!! i mean, waiting for the letters and all that stuff haha
but.. luckyly here in BsAs u dont have to do that, the best university is the public one, the UBA, and u dont have to apply to get in.. u just have to do 6 or 7 subjects before getting in the course it self..
a lot of people say it´s a waste of time but i learnt a lot in that year when i did 7 subjects to get in Textil and Fashion Design... and i reaaaally love it :D .. i´m in 2nd year already

oh, by the way! what do u think is better? apply to get in or just do some extra subjects?
