the recent new yorker story about scientology had a lot of bombshells about tom cruise. it said that he had scientology "slave" labor to detail his jets for free. these were scientology "volunteers" that were not paid for their labour.

the FBI is now investigating.

...BTW, if anyone is interested is seeing some absolutely insane footage, check this out. It's a seven part deposition given by a former Scientologist and although he's completely out of his mind, his experience gives some great insight into the inner workings of the church and how warped it really is. It's 3.5 hours long but well worth it.

You have to understand some of the cult's lingo, and the language is very salty, but I found actor Jason Beghe's long interview very enlightening. Especially just watching him going through revelations during it. A bit slow, but really fascinating ... if that makes sense.

i don't think there was ever much detailing about it (?), except for the fact she called the cops, they arrested him, then let him go and she said it was all misunderstanding (and that there were no physical injuries).

i don't know about his first marriage. the only "scandal" that occurred in the meantime for lane/brolin was him cheating with some girl in the middle of the street (paps caught him and stuff), but they denied it (despite the pics). later on, there were rumors they were denying it cus they're actually in an open marriage.

it's a scio thing. if your family isn't into it too, than you should alienate from them (hence Connor and Isabella being with Tom). on the other hand, i remember a thread here, few years ago, which was about some book and there were nanny diaries from Cruise house in the 90s and they painted Nicole in a very bad (cold) way, but to tell you the truth, after reading article in NY Times (Haggis vs. Scio Church) i'm beginning to think it might be the Church "behind" that book. it's a tiny bit compared to other stuff they're rumored of being capable of doing.

I have heard from many different ppl (including ppl working on the set with her) that she is indeed cold AND bad**** crazy.

well, she does look cold, but i was referring more to those stories how she demands for her kids to be in separate house and how Sunday needs to be fed by the nanny away from Nicole's eyes and how there just can't be any bottles around the house (same thing about Connor and Isabella when they were babies) or any baby stuff.

i read through the nicole bits in the recent tom cruise biography by andrew morton. basically it painted her as a money and status hungry person that didnt care about normal people. she shunned the people working for them.
