I might be seeing them (and 90% of my other favorite bands) at lollapalooza this year.. If I can round up a few friends and convience them to go on that 14 hour road trip and sleep in my car.
I'm pumped. And yourbestfriend, I want all the details of being so lucky as to see them.
Somehow what I wrote was accidently deleted so I'll write this out again.
I almost didn't get in because the ID I borrowed didn't look like me enough so security checked me twice, both times not believing me. I tried to tell them the difference in picture was ebcause I lost 15lbs

He let me in because I memorized the address on the driver's license.
There was an opening act named something And Lynx, but they were horrible and not worthy of an Interpol opening. Nobody seemed to enjoy them and the lead singers screach into the microphone caused some people to take action and plug their ears. She did a little dance with her butt which only had people burst out into laughter. Their biggest applause was when they told everyone that the next song was going to be their last
Interpol came out shortly after with the typical blue/white/red/purple lights as well as some light bars(?) They were GREAT live, better than the album and the videos on youtube I've seen, I suppose it was because they weren't tired. I was lucky enough that I was only four people away from the stage so I was able to see all of them. Everyone looks diffferent except Sam. He was wearing a black t shirt, black pants, waistcoat and a fedora. Carlos was smoking while playing bass rocking his new look with full mustache, and curly/wavy brown hair. His hair is no longer slicked back and black. Carlos wore black pants, black button shirt, waistcoat, a metal tie? (the round type from Texas) and a big silver metal buckle. Dan was wearing the typical black/navy suit with a new haircut. It's shorter and he's no longer got the thick sideburns. Paul looks similar to his TOTBL era since he's lost quite a bit of weight and has longer hair now.
Overall they were awesome since their playing was tight, and they seemed pretty into it. Carlos didnt make much eye contact with the crowd and Paul sorta stared off into the distance (like he was thinking) while playing the songs.
Pioneer
Obstacle 1
Say Hello to the Angels
Narc
and 2 more new songs, Leif Erikson, Evil, Slow Hands, and Not Even Jail (these not in order). For encore they had Length of Love, Stella, and PDA.
Leif Erikson was perfect
There was an afterparty with them DJ'ing but I'm not there because I've got a final tomorrow morning, but it was defintly worth it.
GOOD NIGHT!
