Interpol

it's got to grow on me still. but pioneer is obviously one that caught me too during its live debut and it's painfully gorgeous on record.

And I think the new album will grow on me. I do love Mammoth and the Lighthouse though.

I saw them at the Hove Festival, Norway, last Thursday. I like their music a lot and I really looked forward to see them live, but I got disappointed. They was just standing there and had no contact with the crowd. The only thing Paul said was "You guys are okay" and they semmed haughty.

However when I think about it afterwards and talked to a hardcore Interpol-fan, she said that what could I've expected, it's a typical band to act like that. She might be right.

And btw, huge men diving into people in front of them (us) during the concert, may also have ruined it. My bff started to fight with them, and they even got physical!

18 August - Netherlands - Lowland Festival

We are really being spoiled this year.

I've never seen them, and I've heard/read that they aren't the most talkative people when on stage, but I rather like that. ^_^

I saw them at the Astoria recently, Paul was fairly talkative.
He said "This crowd is special, I love you guys" before playing NYC.

Im thinking about heading to Seattle to see them in October again, but I don't know how busy I will be with midterms. So we'll see..-_-

Oh man, I'm so glad Our Love To Admire leaked. I'm not sure if I could've waited until July 10th XD I'm really loving The Lighthouse, Pioneer To The Falls, and Rest My Chemistry. I still don't think it's as great as Turn On The Bright Lights, though.

^^im not exactly happy about that -_- im gonna buy it tho

To quote the lovely mademoiselle jennifer~: '... the appeal, for me, lies largely in the wait...'. -_- Although, funnily enough, we actually received something early here (for once).

The animal theme goes throughout the whole album booklet; buffalo, hyenas, elephants, etc, contrasting with blank black pages. The CD itself is just black. It's still quite minimal, but in a different way; weird, interesting... I quite like it actually. The music, lyrics and Paul's voice have a certain rawness to it, in my opinion, which is then reflected in this 'nature' them they've got going on. The band is obviously heading in a new direction, yet still holding on to some of their roots. They're evolving.

Anyways, my picks on Our Love To Admire: Pioneer To The Falls, The Scale, The Lighthouse... But Pace Is the Trick is my favourite.

Jealous!

I haven't heard the album yet, outside Pioneer to the Falls and The Heinrich Maneuver, or the songs on their Myspace. But the former is gorgeous and latter is... I don't know. I really like it, but I don't know how to describe it, because it's not typically pretty (and that makes it hard).

Again for Pioneer to the Falls

I did a lot in the meantime, waiting. I must have read One Hundred Years of Solitude one hundred times or more... and knitted one thousand pairs of socks. (Well, if I could knit. I should really learn how, 'cause their next album will probably be awhile...)

...so, it's been couple of months listening to their third album since my friend gave me a copy and I still don't like this album. I really tried hard to grow into liking it, but I get easly bored listening to it....well, perhaps other albums in the future will be better than this one.
