Interpol

I've been listening to the album for the past 5 days. I love it.
Wrecking Ball, Lighthouse, Mammoth, and Scale are my favourites.

It comes out today where i am. I am actually going to buy it  unlike some of you :shifty:

It got a really good review here some days ago. Talked about the record with a friend, she meant it was quite boring. I don't know yet, I've only heard some of the new songs, slightly, at their concert.

The video for 'The Heinrich Maneuver'. I don't know why they even bothered releasing this video :ninja:

...listening to their third album I get more bored than I was before I listening to it. I don't get it. I really loved their first two albums, but not this one. :(

i was a bit :ermm: about it when i listened to it for the first time but now i just LOVE IT!

^ well, I've been listening to it since May and I thought for sure I was going to fall in love with it, but it's now middle of July and I can't stand it if anything. Oh well, maybe in their fourth album I'll have different attitude or something. This, however does NOT mean I don't like them anymore. I still adore Interpol

Exactly the same here. I suspect the reason was because it was more 'polished' it seemed a bit blah in comparison to the earlier albums. I was worried that they had gone soft (not much bass guitar). It was only on the third listen that I started to appreciate it as gut-wrenchingly beautiful perfection.

I'm in love with thier new CD. I've been on an interpol high for last few days. I'm seeing them at Virgin Mobile Music Fest in two weeks!

I'm another one who didn't like the album at first either...I felt it wasnt as introverted as the two before, but after more listens it just got better and better. It's still not up to par with TOTBL, but it is solid. Stand out tracks for me are Pioneer to the Falls, The Scale, Pace is the Trick , and The Lighthouse.

I loved the new album as soon as I heard it. I had high expectations and it surpassed them. I love their new sound, and it's nice to see some development, most bands *coughthestrokes* stick to the same old same old. But wow, Interpol have, to quote Carlos D gone 'epic'.
Pioneer to The Falls and Rest My Chemistry are beautiful, and the later live is just spell-binding.

I don't think I've ever used so many superlatives in one sentence!

T.I.'s "T.I. vs. T.I.P." maintains its lead on The Billboard 200 for a second week after moving 175,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That's a 63% drop from the album's debut week total of 468,000.

Alternative rock veterans Smashing Pumpkins return after a seven-year absence with "Zeitgeist" (Martha's Music/Reprise), the chart's top debut at No. 2. The effort sold 145,000 units and ties 1998's "Adore" as the second best charting album of the group's career. The double-disc "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" bowed at No. 1 on the chart in 1995.

Miley Cyrus' double-disc set "Hannah Montana 2 (Soundtrack)/Meet Miley Cyrus" (Disney) slips 2-3 this week with 128,000 units, a sales decrease of 32%.

Right behind is Interpol's major-label debut "Our Love To Admire" (Capitol) at No. 4 with 73,000. The rock quartet has had increasing success with each new release: its 2002 Matador debut "Turn on the Bright Lights" peaked at No. 158 and has gone on to sell 464,000 units, while 2004's "Antics" debuted at No. 15, selling 63,000 in its first week.

"American Idol" star Kelly Clarkson's RCA album "My December" falls 3-5 with 59,000 (-48%) while Bon Jovi's "Lost Highway" (Island) follows suit, descending 4-6 with 55,000 (-41%).

Linkin Park's "Minutes to Midnight" (Machine Shop/Warner Bros.) climbs two rungs 9-7 despite a 4% decrease in sales to 54,000. Meanwhile, Fergie's solo debut re-enters the top tier with the aid of her new single "Big Girls Don't Cry," ascending 11-8 in its 43rd week on the chart with 50,000 (-5%). Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" (Universal) falls 8-9 with 49,000 (-15%).

Indie rock act Spoon scores its highest charting and best sales week yet with its sixth full-length, "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga." The set debuted at No. 10 with 46,000. The Merge band's only other album to chart on The Billboard 200 was its last, "Gimme Fiction" in 2005, which opened No. 44 with 20,000. Like that set, "Ga Ga" enters at the summit of the Top Independent Albums chart.

Pop duo Aly & AJ's "Insomniatic" (Hollywood) shifts 39,000, enough for a No. 15 entry on the big chart. The duo has charted twice before, first with the studio set "Into the Rush" (No. 36 in 2005) and the holiday effort "Acoustic Hearts of Winter" (No. 78 in 2006).

Other big debuts this week include the soundtrack to the upcoming movie "Hairspray" (New Line) at No. 20 with 37,000, Bad Religion's "New Maps of Hell" (Epitaph) at No. 35 with 21,000, the soundtrack to "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" (Warner Bros.) at No. 43 with 16,000 and Crowded House's reunion set "Time on Earth" (ATO) at No. 46, also with 16,000.

Sales this week are down 4.9% compared to last week's sum at 8.3 million units and down 10.8% compared to the same week last year.

I wonder what they charted in Canada...

Anyway, here's some random pics of Carlos I found.
I think I'm the only one who likes his new look lol

The picture of Carlos with his arm around Gaius is just classic.
I think it was Paul who said the greyhound has become the bands mascot.

Great minds think alike. :shifty:

We got a limited edition version of the album the other day... It's so pretty. The cover is black, Interpol is imprinted into the cover and you get a poster too. :)
