The crazy thing is that Kourtney and Khloe and never scored the types of covers Kylie and Kendall are landing. They just seem to be getting bigger and bigger.

i agree they just extended kylie-now-image ... i dont really care about them, but you cant really miss them ... and kylie already looks like that doesnt she ? she is a total femme-objet ... if thats what she likes, good for her.
the matter is that today's young teens look at her as a role-model (just hang around on tumblr!), and even tho on one hand i'm glad young girls have empowered role-model (Beyonce, Nicki, Miley, and also politicians, young bloggers whoever they are) ... on the other hand the Kardashian-Jenner message to young girls is much more confusing to me !

it's very Roitfeld of Baron to put Jenner on the cover of ITW ...

Celebrities and Art is a real subject tho (huh warhol ? ring a bell ? the Tate is about to have a lecture about that, there was a paparazzi exhibit not so long ago touring europe ... etc)

It's not very far fetched for her to be on the cover of Interview though. Warhol would've probably done the same during his days. Yet that's definitely not Fabien Baron's type. Like BerlinRocks said it's more a Roitfeld's schitck but at least they didn't just put her on the cover just for the sake of it. The Allen Jones inspiration behind her editorial is really good and nobody could’ve done it better than Steven Klein.
Are they pointing out Kylie's deliberate obsession with oversexualizing her image or questioning the public perception of her ? Are they implying that this whole persona is kind of an "art form" ? How she managed to redifine the fame game and establish a very strong influence through it. Are we being played by an 18 y.o girl or is she the subject of her own game /art ?

The whole thing is very VERY Wharolesque. It kills me to see her on the cover of my favourite magazine but the execution proves that Interview is definitely one of the very few excellent magazines around.

I'm glad it's not a double issue. I hope the january cover star will be more interesting. To think that Cary Fukunaga is featured in this issue but Kylie got the cover.

seriously? kylie on the cover of interview? i understand its social media era but still. do prestigious magazines such as interview have to lower their standards to the bottom of the ocean for short termed attention?

we don't buy magazines just for images but also its values.

Interview has been doing double issues for years. I doubt their financial state allows them to publish 2 more issues annually. If it did, they wouldn't be charging $12 for a single issue.

Did you guys read any of the actual interview with Kylie? There's no way she's playing anybody-she's simply not smart enough. I don't even say that to be mean, but none of these Jenner/Kardashian girls are. They weren't raised to be smart. They were raised to be pretty and sexy and to make the family name more money and fame. I've seen more interesting thoughts from children on the Humans of New York instagram page then from any Kardashian/Jenner girl interview. Its sickening to me how media keeps trying to spin this family as people we all should be envious of, people who are smart and interesting and in on all of the jokes. Four months ago, these type of photo's wouldn't have even been legal to do with Kylie. Her sh!tty parents should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for the way they've let this girl grow up, and Interview should be ashamed of trying to capitalize on it.
