i've been checking out the chatter about Koodos.. and just thought they looked like fang's new batch of SGH / GGH Bals on taobao. has anyone seen them? it looked perfect to me, too good to be true! dipped bales, perfect handles, leather, colour, etc.
;

DON'T READ UPSIDE DOWN, GUYS!!!11
!! So let's just head on to BAG NUMBER TWO!

* Disclaimer: God those reveals are stupid!
love your reveal. (i feel the same way about the tpf reveals. how many pictures of boxes in various stages of opening do we really need to see?) the leather on those bags are awesome. congrats on a safe customs trip. i am so tempted to order one except i'm not sure how that color will fit in my wardrobe. clearly, i need to be more imaginative!

Fuggetabouddit! Vert D'eau is it's own entity, like it's own food group kinda thing. Goes with anything.
; and I thoroughly enjoyed the great suspense filled reveal, it gave me my fix for the morning....I'm one of the ones that are not completely sold on the VD, I really really really want to love it....but I'm too scared that I'll ruin it with color transfer from my clothing.....I'm having second thoughts about galet or sorbet now too, what I would really LOVE is a run of something light neutral like Seigle or Praline even....I just love Seigle, it looks to have a personality on its own, I've seen some that look pinkish/beige....and some look more taupe. But if I'm worried about color transfer from VD, I must be crazy lusting after something that is so much lighter than even VD!! But I think I would just learn to live with it since its such a versatile wearable color....that I would love so much
I think we nbf fans know that even with their new "updates" to their handles, o-rings, GGH they are still far from perfect....interestingly their listings say that the bags are "accurate to the original styling and details..." if something as simple as serial numbers and bales are not correct on all of the nbf bags how can they say that the bags are accurate to the original styling and details? And some of my earlier nbf's certainly do "scream fake!" as the front panel is way off (just one of the red flags)....I know they've since corrected such details as this, but they are certainly still not "accurate" to the auth's...
I actually had no idea that the serial numbers were incorrect....when I addressed the issue of my serial numbers being incorrect in the past (I think my first two or three bags...I was shocked when I realized that they were incorrect) they made it seem like it was just an isolated incident, and it was a simple mistake that would likely not happen again (I know....an isolated incident would not have happened over and over, right? What can I say....I'm a sucker, yes I am....but more than that, I just wanted to believe girls.).....am I to understand that ALL of the nbf bags have incorrect SN
? I know that there are alot of nbf fans on this thread, as am I....I think they're great for the price, and for that price it would be immoral to complain about detailing, right? Well, yes and no....I just think it would be nice to know these things in advance, because perhaps if the boys had told me up front that the details were certainly not perfect, that there were major discrepancies when comparing to auth...and that even their serial numbers were not correct, but that in reality I would not get a better Bal rep for this price range....I wonder if I would have been so quick to jump on the nbf bandwagon
, but certainly I would have thought twice about alot of the bags that I rushed into buying for fear of a sell-out, if I had known that there were that many discrepancies....at the very least I would have taken into consideration other sellers like B&S and even Joy has some that look great. Just a thought.....but like I said (before anybody leads an attack against me....relax, nobody's bashing anybody here...just thinking out loud
), I love the nbf's too and for the price you can't beat it....yes, the leather is awesome....and they do a great job at making gorgeous rep's while keeping the price AWESOME, and that's probably why I keep buying them....if they were charging the same prices as B&S I wouldn't have bought half the bags that I have, but they don't....so cheers to T&D!
because i find they have better bales and other correct details
I think you're probably right that they were all fake.... Bal denied selling to or being affiliated with Koodos.... I'm curious though, what makes you think the RH Citys from Koodos are better than NBF's? NBFs have been authenticated there too and I think it would happen much more often it this thread didn't exist. A lot of the people who authenticate on tpf only know how to spot an NBF because of the info from this thread. I think this is a good thing because I too am disturbed and disgusted when reps are sold as auth...and T&D don't do correct serial numbers for a reason! They don't want their bags sold as auth either (which is why the whole idea of "correcting the serial numbers" is so absurd). I'm just wondering what exactly you think is better about the Citys from Koodos? Even if they are better though, I can't complain....those women were paying over $1000 for fakes... I'm happy to pay 1/4 of that!

thankfully those who asked for a refund got it. Im feeling for those who dont read TPF and are walking around happily with their bag
no one saying they will pay 1k (or whatever koodos is charging) for those "fake". of course our nbf is great, for around 200, you can get an amazing bal rep from NBF. so dont bring the price in here.
i still dont believe those bags are fake (like cloudyblue). though that specific bag was posted above has bad leather, just like some other bad real bals out there. BUT, have to agree, myself, think those are darn good to be reps.
I can't stand reveals on TPF... it's one of the many things that turned me off from that board. Seriously, I don't need 10 pictures of tissue paper, just show me the f***ing bag already!
shock
because they hold their value so well. Granted, they might do better than some other labels, but I've been slowly selling off most of my authentic bags, and that is not what I've found at all. I can resell an NBF for pretty close to what I paid for it, but I've found that authentic RH Bals are only getting back half or so of their original retail value... That in and of itself is reason enough for me to go to NBF from now on!Calling all CITY owners!! does the leather part of your strap measure 18"? i could have sworn it was supposed to be 24"... i would really appreciate any replies.
i'm pretty sure T&D sent me the wrong straps, but this is what they said:
Hi Vivian,
I have checked the straps on the City and the leather part is meant to be 18”.
If you include the hardware then it’s the correct length.
so either i'm wrong or they're trying to avoid sending me replacements...![]()
18" for the strap + 3" for bale and hook on each end = 24"
thank you amethyst_sparkle and cornpops
i measured the leather part of my strap, it is precisely 18.25" as opposed to cornpops' 19.5"
amethyst_sparkle, i understand what you were saying about 18+3+3, but i'm not sure how to account for the fact that cornpops' strap is 19.5" versus my 18.25"?
if one or two more people could weigh in on the length of their City strap, i will have enough info to show T&D. i would really appreciate it![]()
hey vivian, I just measured my framboise city and the strap (leather part only) is exactly 19.5"....with the hardware from end to end it is exactly 24"; I then measured my sang city and the measurements are the same....hope that helps![]()
