crystal i haven't yet! :( i'm still waiting for my sorbet RH first.. thinking about adding a flat clutch or envelope clutch.. is that too much sorbet?? i love pivoine but i don't think they'll do it after so many pinks!

amesparkle have u received your sorbet RH first yet?? that's a gorgey weekender!

Not too sure if anyone's done this before but i'm going to a comparison of T&D's raisin GGH and the Galet GGH city. This post is specially for those who are into the little nitty gritty details :flower: and may just put some people off (especially those who kicked up a fuss when i brought up the issue of my not so good GGH) :p. I have decided to post the links so that the file size need not be compromised and you can see a clearer view of the bag itself. Enough said i shall let the pictures do the talking and the wise to decide if it's an unnecessary fuss after all!

First of all, the GGH has indeed improved!! and I am very very impressed! it is absolutely like the real thing and it does *SHINE* :woot: http://picasaweb.google.com/limmiet/BBAgs#5501926473972183746
http://picasaweb.google.com/limmiet/BBAgs#5501927004162551890

Next up would be the workmanship of the bag itself, stitching details on the galet is definitely finer and the thread used is actually thinner as compared to the raisin

http://picasaweb.google.com/limmiet/BBAgs#5501925044870361810

Also the rope that's put through the handles has also been modified to a thinner version on the galet as compared to the raisin

Last but not least, i've noticed a little depression on the bales and it might be just what you ladies have been talking about...the dipped bales!

Now to be honest about this i'd rather they not do it since it looks more like an amateur attempt by using a sharp object to carve the shape out as I've noticed that they're not even on both sides!

As a whole, T&D's put in great effort in improving the quality of their bags and i really appreciate that! On a side note, after being sooo overwhelmed by their updated ggh, i emailed them asking if it's possible for me to ship my raisin back so that they can replace the studs and here's what they said!

"Hi Tricia,
We have only recently updated the GGH to the correct size studs.
If you like we can replace them.
Here's the details to send the bag back to.
The return freight cost is $31.00."
Isn't that wonderful!!! :woot: BUT one thing more, T&D, you mean you've been selling us bags previously with incorrectly sized GGH?? but that's alright, you're forgiven for your honesty!

Limmiet and Cherish...You are both very observant, You both spotted the differences:D:flower:
I only have 2 NBF GH bags now...I don't think i will be sending mine back tho.
It is what it is at this point for me anyway, I rarely use my GGH bags:D
Does this mean that the older NBF'S with GSH are inaccurate as well?

hey bagalicious, my fren bought a gsh galet and the studs still look the same as the ones on the outremer and they aren't as shiny as the ggh.
at the rate T&D are improving on their bags, i am very sure i'll be getting the anthracite Part time with GGH, though i'm still waiting for a pommier work from tracy which should arrive very son!

/\ Thanks Limmiet, As i have a Black day with GSH that I LOVE from NBF, Its an oldie..But boy is it a goodie! Good luck with your pommier work from Tracy:flower:

Diorkiss: I'm not mad monogram bags, but anytime I see an aged monogram speedy I think they look so cool and classic - fingers crossed your bag arrives safe and sound (and customs in my country don't suddenly get strict!)
Vivian: I will do a big review once I recieve Jackys Chanel 1112 and it might help figure out who does the best Chanel. I've seen wonderful pictures of cattys recently. I only know that the metallic silver reissue I got from jacky last year is really well made (the hardware is pretty heavy and durable)
chicadee: very excited about your heads up on the SC :) thanks

Bakedbean, I am very interested in seeing Jacky's metallic reissue Chanel myself. I've been eyeing Catty's CH-331 but not quite sure about the back pocket. It seems a bit too small. Can you post pics? What color did you get? When I say Jacky's metallic chanel pics, especially the silver one, it looks like the leather is on the rough side. Or maybe because of the camera and flash. Do you have this problem on your Chanel? TIA

Does anyone in the USA have an experience with a package being held in customs? What were you asked to to (if anything) and what was the outcome? Feel free to PM me if you'd rather. THANK YOU!!

Well, if you consider it fussing when someone diasgrees with you, so be it.... To each her own....:innocent: I did an old/new GGH comparison back in June when I received my ver d'eau City http://forums.thefashionspot.com/showpost.php?p=7472533&postcount=4038 But your pics are MUCH clearer than mine. I wasn't able to capture the difference on camera even though it's easy to see IRL. Your pics are really good and I appreciate you taking the time to do that.

Oh no!! Did a package of yours get seized? Who is the package from?!?! :( a friend of mine had a package from China stuck in customs because the sender declared it as a gift then proceeded to write "LV Bag"...she lives in NYC and it was the first time i've heard of packages getting stuck in customs.

Because the importing of counterfeit goods/replica bags are illegal, she just received a notice that the bag was getting destroyed. Now all her packages are sent to her parent's address.

Usually customs are more relaxed here in NYC than other places such as LA (so i've heard) but if its declared as LV gift especially coming from China, unless you can prove that the bag is real, I heard they are destroyed. T__T

But I have heard of packages sitting around in customs for months and then just getting delivered whereas others were just fined. It just depends on who inspects your packages, I suppose. WIsh you luck <3

Also!! GORGEOUS BAGS everyone!! I'm rethinking whether I want a bag in sorbet and galet now!! And also contemplating if I should send my black GGH for GGH enhancement or just go for Baga's formula... ahhh decisions, decisions...

Also!! Have a LV SC Cobalt en route! I'm expecting it sometime tomorrow or sat :D can't wait!! Much thanks to the TFSer that sold it to me, you know who you are <3

no doubt it got seized

bbs: was it seized or being held for longer than normal? i had packages stayed in custom longer than normal, but never got seized, YET! never say never :(

Wow, it's great to know that T&D will replace the GGH on older bags! I would seriously consider that for my black City. I tried baga's fabulous enhancement technique, and it did indeed improve the colour immensely, but they still don't have the proper level of shine. Thank you so much for all the info and pictures, limmiet!

As to the Mini PS1, I agree - I'd much rather wait and have a better bag than have him try to do it from current photos...

hmmm..I got my Vert Deau City with regular hardware from NBF awhile back. I know a lot of people loved the color and I think that was the main reason why I jumped on the bandwagon. But now that I look at it, it hasn't even seen the light of day. The leather is nice but the color is just not me...Does anyone else feel the same way? :( (**please don't kill me for saying that..haha)

Speaking of bandwagon...I'm not a big fan of the large PS1's but I'm loving the mini PS1's. Is Jacky going to sell it?

Here is a pic of my Sorbet PT, if you click on the pic and enlarge it that is the color IRL it's 99% accurate:heart::flower:

Thanks limmiet for the comparison post. Do you have a mod pic of your Galet GGH? Haven't seen one around in the forum.

Crystal!! It's GOOORGE.. so I got an RH sorbet first, should I get a GSH sorbet flat clutch??? Calling all flat clutch owners- do you use it a lot? What do you use it for? I am loving my envelope clutch so far but I really want to try out the flat clutch style!!!!

fashioncalypso i feel you girl!!! havent used my VD city even once  i've had it for more than a month now! i do think it's gorgeous but am too scared to use it because of colour transfer....plus i'm finding it hard to match with outfits. so i keep it in the dustbag and admire it once in awhile! on the other hand, i use my black city everyday without a worry.

PinkPrincess-thanks:flower: now I am rethinking the twiggy considering what you said earlier I do love this color but would it be too much in a twiggy as well?? what should I do? Also I don't own a flat clutch so can't help you there but I have it on my list which color yet? hmmm I don't know

Also does the flat clutch hold more than the envelope clutch?

Lady Jay: I have Jacky's Alexa in OS black & Oak, both are gorgeous but I think I prefer the black, the Oak just isn't quite the right colour of oak for me. His plum looks gorgeous but I wouldn't use that bright a colour and his creamy one is a Jacky Special :)
