Has anyone else purchased the LV Monogram Pochette Cosmetique from Jacky or Joy? If so, does yours have a serial number on the inside?
I'm trying to do my own investigative analysis of whether Jacky and Joy have the same LV supplier. I really want to get to the bottom of this so that I can rest assured I should always go with Jacky cause his prices are cheaper B)
i bought the pochette for my sister (we're talking about the half-moon shape cosmetics bag, correct?) and the pull immediately fell off. she used it maybe two weeks. the materials feel sturdy, but it looks like the loop wasn't closed tight enough to keep the pull on. this could have been an isolated incident or it could be how they all are. ours was from jacky.
outside of this, all of the LV mono, damier or epi i've ordered from jacky has been virtually flawless, so i would recommend going with him for LV. his prices are cheaper and his quality is more consistent, in my experience as a buyer and a member of this forum.
Finally taking the plunge (after years of wanting to buy this bag) and buying the cerf tote from Jacky, though I am a little worried about the structure of the bag being too soft.
Catty's look off to me for some reason.
Anyone have opinions?
luna didn't you have the cerf tote a long time ago and then sell it on bagswap? i thought this was you because it was the first time i ever saw irl photos of jacky's cerf. every cerf i've seen from jacky has had the same issue, which is exactly what you mentioned. the body of the bag is far too soft and doesn't stand up on its own. sometimes the handles also look thin (though i have seen some with good handles).
i am mad about this bag and have been for ages, but the reps simply don't hold a candle to the real deal (or the ones i've seen anyway). catty's is terrible, so good call there, but i wouldn't hold my breath for jacky's to pass the test either. the auth isn't completely structured, but it definitely stands up on its own sans anything inside.
shoestring - anthra is a strange color to describe and yes, it depends on the year. they can be a ridiculously dark bottle green with a hint of blue or a very deep blue/dusty dark gray. i wouldn't really describe it as a starter color, but it is very versatile. i have an anthra club and use it like crazy because the color seems to work with almost anything. the club has RH, so it looks more neutral, whereas the SGH on your EC will bring out the blue or green (whichever that batch has) undertones since SGH is so cool.
