Anyone bought the recent anthra run?
I wanted to wait for a black city GSH
but the boys are convincing me that the recent anthra run is like last time's chewy and matte leather. is that true? They sent me a photo of close up leather that looks shiney tho?

QUESTION FOR SORBET OWNERS: Did all of you get really dry leather? I've seen a few complaints and I'm still kind of jonesing for a RH Sorbet City.

fanbao26: I just purchased one! I've heard great things about the anthra leather this go round and the color is supposed to be fairly spot on (my comparisons have come to the same conclusion). I'll let you know when I get mine. Should be here next week!

I would totally order a FC w/GSH in addition to probably 1-2 other bags if T&D did a true red.

ColeyX3-I ordered 3 bags in sorbet I agree with PinkPrincess nice leather just the right thickness for me. I colored one of my sorbet bags with a pink/purple polish now it looks like pale magenta, turned out really nicely I might go ahead and color the other two as well

For those of you that have rep Mono LV's , have you found that the sealant color changes color somewhat as the vachetta patina's and gains color? So many of the seller's pictures show the new sealant as looking glaringly red, yet on pictures shown here of member's older reps the sealant looks less obvious.

I don't remember how my auth's were when they were new, but on both the pieces I have now the sealant appears pretty brown in color. Both were purchased around the same time, however one was made in France and one was made in USA--both of them are significantly different.

Talk me off the ledge of fiddling with my rep's sealant....

handbagdiva - welcome back

the auth leather sealant is a nice burgundy red and has a shiny smooth glaze over it. some reps have that bright red and the glaze isn't as smooth as the auth. over time, the patina does 'mask' the brightness of the red, and i'm sure dirt, wear, etc also factor into dulling the brightness.

i have also found that some sellers do have that darker burgundy red, very close to auth. i bought some from catty and they were this darker red and can see in some of joy's LVs they are also the darker red

Pink: That's annoying about the leather but they said no to Coley about Magenta & turquoise first so maybe if we can get enough people for the colours we can get the leather too?

Eh. If T&D are saying no to using chevre, then won't the Magenta & Turq bags be made in agneau? All 05 bags were made from chevre, right? Then uhm, won't the bags look not that spot on to the auth 05 bags?

But I think I'd be still happy to go for it as there's no other way to get magenta or turq and the while the leathers feel different the overall look is so similar as to not bother me. But I completely understand anyone who doesn't want M or T because it's not the exact leather

HandBagDiva - don't worry, the sealant fades. I have an auth speedy 30, and it's super old--the sealant is brown and almost matches the patina of the vachetta. When I play double agent X-D at the other forum, the ladies say they get their items re-sealed or re-glazed after a while. They usually do this to their LV wallets and other small leather goods, because LV makes wicked durable stuff in that category (hence why a wallet is just as much as a speedy!)

Jacky's sealant is great. I bought a pochette from him, and the sealant was neatly put on, not like, gobs, but a neat sensible layer of red. Now it's also fading to a darker red/brown and the leather is honey-colored. I think it's great.

Ladies, I'll be frank:

I sometimes buy rep purses that impulsively or not and I know we all do. Sometimes I want a purse, think about it, but when I get it, I just don't love it. It may be that I am too sensitive to a detail that wasn't done right, or the bag may be perfect but I may not *love* it.

We talk so much about bags here, and when we will buy, and when we get them. But I wish there was a nice way to sell our bags here too, or trade them. I know I don't have 600 posts to be invited to a secret forum. But heaven/husband/computer knows I spend a good hour or more on this forum every day (can you be shy online as well as in rl? LOL).

I do put some of my stuff up on ioffer but I feel uncomfortable selling to strangers there. Sometimes I'll recognize someone from TFS but often I have sold things to people that aren't part of this forum. The community of ladies on here is pretty swell and I wish we could be open to some solution. I think it would make us happy. I would be so happy right now if I re-homed lots of bags that I just don't use, so that I can get the ones I want now, attain the collection of purses I truly love, and get on with my life. Honestly, I hate looking at my closet where 1/3 of the stuff I use and the other 2/3 is like, crammed and hidden.

Even a person with say, 50 posts or 100 posts who is in the know about our providers can show they are serious because they post what they've purchased or because they just know about reps because they've read the threads and keep up. Some of us can't just buy buy buy (I'm in grad school), and I think that affects how much we can post on here. Could we like, list in our signatures things that we're looking to get rid of? I don't want this to turn into a marketplace but I'd prefer to discreetly list things and discuss over PM than to take risks with ioffer or have a stash of "mistakes".

Anyway, just my two cents.

TBH, i "personally" dont really care goat or lamb, as long as it is not super thick and bubbly like some colors. i prefer smooth and little glazy like sorbet. i guarantee it will smooth out and super soft and just as the old bals. i have 2 sorbets and 1 of them is super broken is, super duper soft, not too thich nor too thin.

boinquo I'm with you on this. I've just come to realize that I have TOO many bags! Some of which came to me and didn't have the quality I love and they just sit in my closet. It's hard to get rid of them and always hard to sell them online too. It'll be great if we could start some sort of bag swap thing that everyone on this thread can contribute to. Or even on our own?

@ Boniquo - I agree. Especially since loads of us have purchased from power members of the forum. The one thing that always has irritated me is that we have to be so careful - and please note, I UNDERSTAND IT - it just makes it kind of hard to get rid of and get preloved reps from people you TRUST already without having to go through a bunch of malarky. Meh... maybe one day this will change.

Anywho, two cities from T&D on the way! YAY ME!
