I keep going back to J's site to look at the back. I like the texture of the leather and it looks very hardy! But if it's going to weigh a ton (I carry lots of things), I will probably skip it. Thanks both!

Anyone who owns the AW Coco Duffle by J can comment on how heavy the bag is? The studs at the bottom makes it look heavy. The shoulder strap idea is great, I'd like one if J is making them.

bisoubis I have the authentic AW with shoulder strap and I absolutely love it . My friend got Jacky's Coco Duffle a few weeks ago and it is in fact VERY heavy. I can tell you that the auth is not that heavy when empty. Another difference I noticed is that the leather is more shiny on the auth one and it stays more in shape. Beside that the handles are a bit different, also the studs are not as brass as on J's. But overall I must say Jacky did a great job, you notice those differences only when putting both bags side to side, and we all know reps are still reps ^_^ , so i think you should really get it from J if you like it. Maybe he's also going to do the new Coco with the strap, then I would defenitely wait and get that one, as it is much more comfortable to wear.
I still don't have my macbook back, so no pics by now, but they will follow as soon as I have it. Promise :flower:

bisoubis: It's a seriously heavy bag! But is so so cool I can forgive it :D

chicadee: I'm so with you! I'd love other colours too, I'd love the luggage one:

Or the forest green one:

Xooey: Excatly the same for me, it's a going to dinner bag not a day running around bag. I hope the strap will make it more practical!

Ziggy Stardust: Thanks so much for that! Great to know that you love yours. I'd love to see pics too :)

And *drumroll* Jacky said:

Ok ,we will try to make it thanks Jacky

Woop!

Okay gals, got word from the boys that the galet and sorbet (hey, that rhymes ) leather has arrived! :clap:In case anyone is interested, they are doing Galet in GGH!

Now, I am interested in a few styles that will require 3 more girls so is anyone interested in the following? And if so, can we do a copy-and-paste list type thing?
We kinda need to make this quick, they're cutting up the leather now so if you're in, let me/us know fast!

chelsea2901 I almost ordered Jacky's Mulberry Ruby. The pictures featured on his site look great. The leather seems close to the real Ruby. It looks kind of shiny but that is how Mulberry's Ruby looks like too. I think it is a great work bag, the ribbon feature adds a kind of sweetness to the bag compare to the more formal Bayswater. If he has the nude version coming out, I very much prefer the nude one but black seems like a more practical colour for daily use.

kaygirl and bisoubis-thanks for the opinions! I agree with kaygirl that the bayswater in oak is tdf, since it seems like jacky has gone back to the old darwin leather he used a couple of years ago. I have seen it/touched it/smelled it myself after I ordered one for a friend in a combined order. Wish I would have taken pics back then, and wish I kept it for myself, too!

I agree with bisoubis that the Ruby is a 'girlier' version of the bayswater. I haven't seen one IRL so I don't know how it's supposed to look-do you think it has an iridescent (sp) finish, or is it more like a semi-patent??

I'm not too worried about it not being appropriate in my field-it definitely would be ok.
I would have to go with black, though-I would destroy the nude one.:flower:

I have J's coco duffel and I love it! Definitely one of my favorite bags, but I do have to agree with everyone else here, it is pretty heavy. I usually try not to put too much stuff in the bag, just the essentials. I think ziggy_stardust did an excelent job of describing J's coco and I agree with her 100%. Even though there are very very slight differences, they are definitely not noticeable when being carried. I've had sales ladies oogle over my A.Wang and touch the leather and everything. little did they know... hahaa! I actually have never seen the A.Wang being carried around here before, and either way, I don't think anyone can tell that mine is a rep at all.

i'm over the fence about a sorbet gsh first but it's soooooooooo cute!!!

Noooooo J's Mulberry Oak Hayden sold out today. I was just looking at it yesterday! :( I'm gonna go cry in the corner now.

Ziggy Stardust - Can you describe the leather on your auth A. Wang compared to Jacky's rep? I bought a Coco rep off of ioffer for a hefty price about 8 months ago and the leather is just not up to par. So, I was thinking of purchasing the auth. The hardware on my rep is nice...but I'm just not OK with the leather.

Thanks!

Btw, as we are speaking of AW bags, would anyone be interested in Jacky making the Jena clutch?? I neeeeeed this bag, it looks so cute but edgy at the same time, I think it would be perfect for going out!

I remember her Coco being more matte and dry, also it didn't stay in shape when she put it on the floor, but i think could be because she used hers a lot and mine is pretty new. What I love on my bag is that silky sheen, the leather looks so delicate  But I guess you could use some LMB shine restore on J's and you will be just fine ^_^

I will see if I can take comparison pics the next time I see her, but I will def post pics of mine, only have to wait until I get my macbook back, it is still in repair . I am writing from my bf's right now.

my vert d'eau rh city and sorbet gsh iClutch are here and they are STUNNING!!!

the vert d'eau leather is just incredible. it's not the same as the last batch, but then again nothing, not even authentic balenciaga, comes even remotely close to the previous run so it's unfair to compare. everything pales in comparison to that run--even cupcakes, rainbows and unicorns -_-

this batch is just a tad bit more vibrant and saturated. the leather is insanely smooth, soft, silky, buttery and puddles straight out of the package!
verdict: on a scale from one to ten, ten being the last batch of vert d'eau, i'd rate this batch a 9.5. if i had to compare it to a previous batch of leather, texture/quality-wise i'd say it is the same as, if not superior to, '07 anthra from last summer.
*just so no one gets confused, in the group shot, the rh city is from this latest batch. all the others (ggh city, twiggy and WE) are from the previous run.*

as for the sorbet leather, it is actually just as yummy! it is soft, silky, saturated and the color is spot on. it is the perfect shade of pink. framboise was too salmon-y, bubblegum too bland, and amethyst is too purple to be considered pink, imo. for me, sorbet is a very wearable shade that is classy and not in-your-face "loud". verdict: on a scale from one to ten, again ten being the last batch of vert d'eau, i'd rate sorbet a 9. texture-wise, it feels much like the apple green batch--very slick, smooth and silky. i can't wait to get a first with either rh or gsh!!

it looks great, congrats

good to hear the leather is such nice quality - it looks wonderfull in the pic already

ViaSarah, eskielvr, the siren: I am terribly sorry but I have decided that I won't be buying a folk bag. Unfortunately the bag is too small for my needs. It holds less than a city and a Sunday tote. The measurements are 12" wide by 10inches high by 4 inches deep. I cannot get a bag this small and pay $1100 for it. I am sorry to everyone who wanted this bag but it is just too small for me. I have a lot of flap bags and they need to be considerably larger to carry my stuff. Apologies to all.

NP :flower:. You've done so much for us, plus $1100 is way too much for a tiny piece of leather. If I were you I probably would have made the same decision.

amethyst_sparkle congrats on your VD and Sorbet!! VD looks amazing!! I'm kind of glad that this round is more saturated since VD will eventually fade. I can't decide which style to get mine in .

ziggy stardust that AW clutch looks sooo chic and edgy! I may consider it if Jacky makes it by the time I order.

My sister's regular alexas (oak and black) have arrived today and they look and feel amazing. Jacky did well with this batch since I'm amazed how good the quality is especially for a replica. I can't imagine how the real deal feels! Maybe it's just b.c I've never really felt an actual authentic designer bag (other than Coach).
