bonne - auth bals do have a shine initially, which varies from hide to hide. some bags are shinier than others and this varies within styles and even exact colors. later bals (2008 forward) have been shinier than older bals, at least in my experience.

can anyone comment on the accuracy of the mustard PS1 on jacky's sale page? i am thinking of getting this one for the remainder of summer and the forest green for fall. TIA!

crystal7 - i say go for a color you really like. if you don't feel good about galet, definitely switch your order to something else

i am also bothered by details like the bales on a bag. i think it's very important, like getting the correct proportions or having the correct leather texture. i've refrained from ordering T&D's city or PT for that reason. good idea about ordering a strap from fang or even B&S. but just x fingers the color matches if not in black...

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I don't have my camera with me at the moment because I'm at work so I can't post photos, but I feel like the color is def more of a medium greyish with a bit of taupe (rather than a pure brown or pure grey) in natural lighting. It's sort of a hybrid color like my Outremer that looks blue sometimes, and other times purple.

I've see the photos of Fang's light grey and while I think the grey tone and depth looks correct (based on the lighting she used), I don't think it would quite work because it seems to lack the brown tones that T&D's galet has. It might be worth a shot for someone to order a strap though, and see how it works so the rest of the ladies here in the forum could possibly get a correct strap too. On another note, it's a bummer that her light grey is as dark looking as it is because it looks too dark to be Argent. And I'd like to have another Argent bag. Maybe it's just lighting, I don't know...

Anyway, with all this being said, has anyone pointed out the differences in Auth bales to T&D? Maybe we just need to speak up and tell them since they've been working out the details of the bags in other areas. I really want to order more from them because I adore their customer service, but these bales just really really bother me. Call me picky, but it's really a downer for me and I want to feel as good as possible when I carry the bag.

i'm picky when it comes to the details too but, interestingly, my # gripe with the nbf bags are the studs. since they're on the front of the bag, they're the ones i'm most concerned about.

i've taken my nbfs into holts (official retailer in canada) and compared the bals from my nbfs side by side. cheeky, i know. but, the holts people are clueless... i got tons of compliments on my nbfs.

to me, the studs are a dead giveaway from up close. the giant studs on the auth bals are smooth and very different in texture from tnd's. also, the rh for the new colors are almost black, with no brass showing. (not sure if this is the case for the older colors.)

i'm happy they changed the o-rings. they were definitely too big. if they were to only improve on one thing, i'd wish it were the studs but, of course, like all of you, i'd want perfect bales too.

jihanemo, i'm only about 4 years too late on the goyard bandwagon. i'm torn between the st. louis (tote - kinda like neverfull) or the fidji (hobo) ... also torn about the color. white would be fab, but the season is short. i'll probably go for red, orange or yellow. will post pics, for sure.

carta, excited to hear that you're getting a Goyard! Very appropriate for a New York City girl! I can't wait to see the pics! Are you going to buy the regular tote style (not sure the name)? What color?

I just went on a trip to Paris and carried my truffle ggh work into a balenciaga shop. I've often carried my nbfs into department stores that carry balenciaga in the US but never an actual balenciaga shop before let alone one in Paris, but my friend wanted to go in. I half expected to be escorted out but no one noticed that my bal was an nbf. Its so close to auth I cannot believe I'm so lucky to have found t&d!

carta - I think t&d has improved on the gold studs, since my truffle ggh work has very textured studs, while the newer ggh bags has smoother studs.

*please note that my ggh has been enhanced by baga's fabulous gold formula.

I love the leather texture of all the new colors! I really hate the raisin leather and am sooo happy that t&d is going back to using smooth, thin leather. The shininess can be easily fixed by apple leather conditioner.

Are you talking about the Giant Hardware or Regular? Because I have an Authentic GSH Argent day...and just got the NBF GSH Galet city. I did a quick comparison before I left home today...and I think the Giant Hardware looked really close to me. I can probably take pics later tonight just to confirm..

bonne, pics would be awesome! i found the color of the GSH to be close but, the texture wasn't. like the authentic is smooth like on the nbf coin purses. i hope i'm wrong! cuz, smooth GSH would be awesome!

Hi girls, after a night of rest, here are pictures of my galet! She's been conditioned and the shine is no more noticeable. The leather is as smooth as the sang leather. I didn't get the outremer so I can't compare. Can I say how much I love her..no matter if the bales are off etc. I've been waiting forever for a neutral bag after missing out on argent. I have a VD too from the first batch but I don't get much use out of her as I'm not too much of a 'pop' of colour girl. Pics by me.

Just checking Fang's GH bals... lots of them has square bales! it seems Fang got her bals from various suppliers. some are spot on, some are not.

I ordered a bottle of the 4in1 Leather Cleaner off of eBay to give it a try. It was only about $14 for shipping to USA from UK. The one I ordered is called HG Hagesan 4 in 1 For Leather Cleaner , Conditioner. I hope that's the one you all are having good success with, because that's what I ordered.

I have currently own one NBF {Anthracite PT.... LOve ,love} with another {Black Velo} on the way & an auth. pine green MU. Not many, i know.... when i see some of the amazing collections on this thread. Im intruiged, Bonne.... before you conditioned the Galet leather with the 4 in 1, did i read correctly that you intially used nail polish remover on the leather finish? Im absolutley fascinated with how you all achieve the beautiful matte leather finish {not a fan of shiny, i cant imagine anyone is!} as i havent had much luck sourcing LMB products here in Australia!. Thanks in advance

Thanks Pinkprincess and lovelovemode. It's a lovely bag and I can see me and her having many trips out together. My black city has been very much used and need a good break.
Missaudrey, it was me who used nail polish remover. Well, just quick swipes over the bag. Don't think many ppl would recommend doing that to their bbag but it did the job quickly and is a cheap way. I can't get lmb here easily too n postage cost as much as the product itself. I did also spray pg leather conditioner on the bag.

There is a shop in Melbourne selling simillar products like LMB but they are more expensive than LMB in US.I always order LMB from US- they ship to Australia
