I wish Jacky re-did the Nightingale with the strap with the zipper. I have his Nightingale and it's a great bag but I'd love to get a new one with the zipper. Also, doesn't the leather on this new bag look a lot smoother than his old Nightingales?

I'm sure you will love it! I bought the rocco from Jacky and I love it. The bag is just gorgeous. When I went shopping at Nordstroms with it, the sales girls were fawning over it. :D

I can't wait to hear your reaction

Orchidian-:flower: I am waiting for the rocco from J, but I am not sure what to expect I have heard the studs are "too gold" , "too brass" , "not brass enough" , so at this point I say.............. it is what it is B) :p

The leather's okay...though not as pebbly as the authentic. The cut in the handle is kind of sloppy but I guess that's not so much of an issue since no one's really going to see that when you're wearing it. I guess if you've never seen an authentic one you wouldn't really know that the O-rings are way off, but the hardware color is just too gold. I thought his Rocco with gold studs had the right "tint" and "antiqueness" to it.

oh boo! what a shame j didn't nail this one :( i can see from his pics that his studs and O-rings are too gold compared to the auth :( the auth studs have a mute light yellow tint to them. i sure hope j can find the correct colored studs and hope he makes it in luggage with silver studs. maybe that combo is easier to rep.

sucre - i've seen many auth nightingales with smooth leather, especially in the dark colors like blue, black and brown. i've seen many distressed ones too, but the point is, the smooth exist if you're wondering.

thanks for the pic, devon!

the bag looks good imho and the leather is nowhere as plastic-y looking as the black work with RGGH, but the hardware is still far too shiny. the auth RGGH isn't shiny at all irl. it really resembles the pewter GH that was used for the LE neiman's suede bags a few years ago (with the contrasting white trim; anyone remember that?).

the hardware is almost dull with the exception of the front panel zip. it's a really strange look. although i like it a lot, i'm surprised it's doing as well as it has been, considering it isn't appealing in a conventional way.

Devon-This is my grey RH WK from B&S..Pics are mine. Inside with flash outside in daylight. leather is AMAZING. No complaints.:flower:
maybe crystal and others who own a Buy&Sell will also post for reference.

Thanks Kimair for your clarification.:flower:

The town from B&S has a 2 corded handle not 1...if you look at the authentic it's a single corded handle.:( (I'm going to send her an E mail and show her an authentic) Bless her!

crystal, whose bag i's pictured?

If you are asking about the rocco with double row of brass studs, that is from catty:flower:

Baga-good work Sherlock :ninja: I think if she corrects the cord I might be in for a town :D

Chupi and Orchidian-if all goes well l'll have my rocco by Wednesday l'll soon find out:rolleyes:

I agree with you re: the thimbles are too shiny. Maybe Baga the hardware magician can whip us up a formula to solve our problem? :D:flower: Because I'm loving this B&S town!

Devon- the simple solution to shine is leather conditioner. The majority of members here use Apple brand leather conditioner which can be found at Burlington Coat Factory and the same formula can be found at drugstores and markets in the shoe shine/repair isle under a different store brand.

As for thin leather, I too have Outremer, Sang, Black and Galet and none of my bags are shiny or thin. I also have Sorbet, Vert D'eau and this latest batch of Anthra and they too are not shiny or thin. I have 22 bags in just those colors alone and while the leather varies from one to the next, they are all quite exceptional to be honest. I can also attest to the quality of Sang versus Outremer (with 7 and 6 bags in each color respectively) and would go so far as to say the Sang batch is of much higher quality in terms of thickness, smoothness, degree of distressing and texture.
Outremer is more textured, distressed and, to a degree, "rough" whereas Sang (as well as Sorbet and Vert D'eau for that matter) is thick, luxurious, ultra smooth and even (little to no distressing) and turns to silk with just one coat of conditioner.

I highly recommend applying some brand of leather conditioner to all of your bags (including Chanel and Mulberry, etc) before wearing. Apple care conditioner not only gets rid of shine, it protects against a litany of hazards too--rain and water spills, oil transfer, scuffs and scratches.
Plus it makes even the driest leather supple and silky soft :flower:

Devon: not sure where in the world you are but if you're in Europe applecare is impossible to get over here (or rather supa expensive) so you must get some leather revive. It's the absolutle business for t&ds shiny leather! And my last couple of bags while gorgeous definitely needing toning down in the shine department :)

Coming through with my buy&sell magenta PT B) this bag:flower:

just to add I have a pommier and black as well which I have already posted pics of all with no shine B) :flower::heart::flower: :D

Is T&D latest batch of black leather really that terrible? I want to order an RH city :(

Is a leather conditioner available at the cobbler in Europe? I'm wondering if I should treat my non-branded calfskin bag!

hipchick, comparison pictures would be helpful. They might help others make an informed decision although the bag's already sold out.

I am well schooled in leather conditioners and protectants and I've tried many including Apple, which is the brand I swear by. I find the shine is only gone initially. It always returns.
I also have over 20 NBF's. I'm not trying to get into a t*t for tat, just stating MY opinion based on MY experience with NBF's and leather. B)

Baga, thanks for the pic, knew I could count on you ;)

Thanks Chupi, I've been considering Leather Revive but I've heard it's pretty harsh?

Actually, if you're looking at the pic I posted with RGH, it should have a double cord. RH has single.

Crystal, that looks good! How are the bales?

diorkiss, welllllll.....my Black City is pretty shiny and stiff still. I think the batch differed because some I saw were not nearly as shiny.
