Is It In Or Out? Faux-hawk/pouf

I was just wondering if faux hawks or poufs as some would call it are in or out of style? my friend is going to a party tonight and has a very bad hair day and usually on bad hair days she puts it in a pony w/ a pouf at the top. she wanted to know if it is appropriate or should i say fashionably legal.

doesn't it seem like everyone is wearing their hair like that these days?...they are here anywhay...i've worn my hair like that for years...just because i like it...

why doesn't your friend do what she likes and what looks best on her...

I think that it goes along with that slightly 80's look, which is ending. I personally really do like it though... I wish I knew how to style my hair that way.
B) But as softie said, your friend should just wear what she likes- that's true style.
