Here's what I've purchased for Fall. Both from Etoile.

pics from Satine and Shop Yumentempo
main.jpg

oh dear, heart breaking  i tried on that dress. love love love it. i bought an apc dress instead and then later bought a summer dress from the etoile line. should have taken this one too...:(
i guess i can visit it here.:flower:

laika--
i'm very curious to see pics of the other two things you got...

as far as what other options there are for layereing the grey top...
i have to consider this...
blue is the first thing that comes to mind...
or ivory...even a light dove grey...
i might like something at the neck...
so maybe something with a high collar of some sort...
could be a tight top but it could also be a soft blouse...
i would experiment...

or a nice soft scarf wrapped loosely around the neck and then a brooch...
(you know i am addicted to pins...^_^...)

you've all got some really great pieces :flower:...at first sight they are so basic but its seems the most understated details are usually on clothes that get the most wear, and I can see how much of this is worn often and pieced together with different looks.

last year yoox had a sample sale and I grabbed the dress version of the is wool top in a camel color. its one of those dresses I wear when I have a chill but still want to wear a dress.

pics pics...you need to wear it and post a pic!...:D

my outfit today was very marant-esque...
^_^...though none of it actually was...

laika...aren't we going to get to see the other things?...
sorry for being impatient but pretty pics make me happy...

i also thought that navy would be a nice way to layer your outfit above...
or TEAL...:brows:...

ok need to get to paris after reading this thread......

...
helena...you're funny...
grab a couple of things for me while you are there...

so- i got my IM jacket today from the Yoox sample sale and i am quite pleased...
totally cool downtown type of thing...
will work beautifully into spring...
has a cool sort of 'cargo' or military vibe like her spring runway...

yay!..

I thought that when I saw you post it...but wanted to hear from you first. very cargo, outback, not to mention how easy it will be to fill all those pockets and not carry a bag. fantastic find, so glad it worked out for you.

cool....glad the jacket worked out.

Helena, me too!

:P

Here is the linen top...ah, so wrinkled at the moment.... It has two little slit pockets and it poufs out a bit in the back. Sorry for funny pose, but I wanted to show the sleeve. :argg:

this is me kissing you all over your face for posting that pic...
:woot:...

LOVELY...
wowee...VERY billowy sleeve....
my first reaction is to put a vest on...
argh

:argg:..

great skirt too- what's that?.....

holy cow, that is so bouncing baby awesome, laika.

here's me whining...I want it...you look so good, girl.

thanks darlings!

So glad you both like it. I agree it shrieks for a vest...I wonder if that wouldn't be a bit much though. The sleeves are bloody HUGE...:P

The skirt is Chloe from last fall, and I wear it constantly (it has pockets too).:D

I am expecting pics from both of you now.:judge:

Need to see lucky's dress and softie's jacket.:innocent:

also- i would have chopped off about 4 inches.....

I obviously need to visit this thread more as this is a bit of a delayed response but I am so glad you said that...I have the same dress (am wearing it today) and, on me, it is about 3-4 inches shorter. It look so good on tourist though I'm wishing I was a little shorter...

laika - my jacket is just for spring though...
i'm not going to wear it for some time....^_^...
*the look i just posted in WAYWT kind of looks like IM...
it's not though....
...

hebden...
YOU post a pic!!!...
we want to see how the dress looks different on YOU!!!
:woot:...

*laika- i would do the vest...
but you probably know my affection for them...:P
i am thinking a vintage ysl (the blouse is super YSL-non?)
or some APC variation of that...
marant did some cute knitted vest that may have been knocked off by h&m as well...
something cute and cropped...

 Shopworthwhile.com was one of the best kept secret sites. Now everyone is going to get the same piece. B)

amazing finds, lucky.... I think they could both work, yes, although the first one is certainly a lot more versatile. I was actually thinking of something less Victorian and more folkloric...maybe with a string or hook closure....yeah right, I might find that.

LoveLetter....things are never as secret as you think they are. :P

thanks for all the nice karma and comments ladies. :D Pucci, I really don't have that many shoes, to be honest. I like the skirt with navy or dark grey tights and I usually wear black boots with it....but dark grey wool tights with brown booties would nice too, I think.

In Isabel Marant news....I finally found the wool mini in a size that works for me, but the color is so close the Chloe one, that I don't think I can justify it.

laika - congrats on the top! I love the billowy sleeves, it looks so good on you! I'm curious to see how it would look with a vest, but alone, I think it looks quite good already!!
luckyme - those are really nice vests you posted, I actually love the 2nd one so much
hebden - please post of picture of you wearing the dress! Maybe it will convince to hem mine :D

can I justify it...:innocent:...

:D

*OR- i could buy the chloe skirt off you and then YOU can get the IM??>..
:woot:...

yes-
that is the kind of vest i was thinking of - like YSL...
i have some pics of my own stuff i can post...
just for reference if you like...
one of them is Vintage YSL and the other is APC like i mentioned before...
but i am telling you- i saw something good at topshop and i think h&m probably has it as well...

vintage is probably a good bet...what about the flea market?
