heb
here's the link to where i posted the boots...
mine are not shiny though....
it explains in the post...

they really are super great...i'm very happy with the purchase...
i don't know how i feel about then with the dress ...
:ermm:...

but they would clearly be different on you given your height...

That's what I was thinking....the slouch factor would be different because there is a lot more leg showing. Almost like these from Zara, which are IM knock-offs, but probably impossible to find now.

**so is that why you wear flats so much......?

In part, but my appalling sense of balance doesn't help matters either...it's a shame because my husband's 6'7" so I'd have no concerns about towering over him (unless I was wearing stilts)...I just cannot stand up in heels .

Anyway...thanks for the link softgrey, those are actually similar (though much nicer) to the pair of tall boots that I currently have. I'd always worn mine with just-above-the-knee length skirts...not sure what I think of them with this dress but (if I can find them) I'll give it a try.

laika - I really like the pair from Zara...just my luck if they're impossible to find and there's no Zara where I live. I do like the idea of "slouch" though...

*laika-
those IM knockoffs from zara are good stuff...
zara seems to be getting reorders of some of their best selling items...
i think i just saw them in a store recently actually...
but my memory is not clear...
:ermm:...

wow heb- you and your husband must be a striking couple...^_^

juliet - this is for you..
i couldn't find a pic of the colour i have (dark navy)...but i hope this helps...

Softgrey - this is the same skirt, right?

If so, Juliet, you can find it at Hejfina...you're coming to Chicago for Thanksgiving, right? Or am I thinking of someone else

all teases...that skirt is a great one for sure...it actually looks better on than on the hanger. your picture in it and the chloe one convinced me to buy the marni skirt(s) so at least I could attempt buy something different.

can I just say that I could def see the IM skirt and the IM dress both with those zara boots. its a really good look.

Thanks so much ladies!! Creatures of Comfort has the same skirt but in a sort of washed out green. I much prefer the navy and gray. Hopefully Hejfina still has a few for my trip to Chicago.

you're welcome juliet..

the pic hebden posted is MUCH better......
i wanted the grey originally...but i am so happy that i got the navy now...

i'm still keeping me eye out for a grey skirt ...
grey skirts are really lovely imo...
grey wool like that has such a lovely texture...
so cozy!...
makes you almost want to eat it...

:P

^I really think the navy is the best color by far...I would kill to find it here.

juliet, why don't you just call hejfina? They will sell it to you over the phone, no problem. It's called the "Dwyn" skirt. :flower:

hebden, I stopped in at the Zara on 5th ave today and they had the slouchy boots in sizes 37 and 39. They also had the brown booties with wooden heels in 39 and 40....and a 36, which I bought, but might not be keeping. To be honest, I found both shoes pretty uncomfortable...:ermm: I have a VERY high instep though, so I don't do so well with cheap shoes. :( I'm just going to wait and try them on tomorrow, when my legs are not aching from running around all day.

Thank you!!! I'm a US 9 though so I'd need a 41...right? (As a Brit I really should be better at European sizing). I'm a cheap shoe queen though so if I could find them in my size I should be okay...famous last words...

laika - after I posted I tried to give you karma but I "had to spread it around" so...:flower::flower::flower::flower::flower::flower::flower::flower::flower::flower::flower:

the 39 should fit hebden...
9=39 in most cases and these are a pretty generous boot i think...

*that was so nice of you to check that laika...:flower:

laika- i wore my booties yesterday and walked around all day..
they hurt...for sure...:ninja:...
but they are also big on me so i am thinking that an insole will solve that...

Nothing to it! :P

I agree with soft on the sizing--I wear a US six and a Zara 36, so 39 should fit you fine. :flower:

softgrey...if I keep them, I'm going to add an insole just for cushioning! They are very "hard," no?

yes- hard is the right word...
but they are growing on me a bit more each time i wear them...
so i think that as long as i add the insole...they will be good...
especially for this season and for when it rains etc...

and since we have practically the same wardrobe you and i...:innocent:...
i am sure they would work just as well for you...

:P

Found this lovely IM wool jacket on ebay...someone should really buy this. I  the kimono style.

I just found this thread and I must say that everyone who's posted pics here all look absolutely amazing. Do any of you know where I can get IM stuff in New York? I know some stores carry them online but I'd much rather go to a store and try on the clothes:smile:

Hello, http://www.mickmargo.com/ have her clothes and shoes, they are in NY. I just got my IM boots from them, you will have to call the store (or go there) for the boots as they don't carry them online.
