Italian Street Style

Brera and Porta Venezia are the only two placeswhere you can still find great builings and great outfits imo.

From the look of some of the pictures in this thread, there seems to be plenty of sharply dressed men in Italy! The man in post #453 is a prime example of this.

... The only refined outfits are on older men.

Too true. I would also include older women. They all wear their clothes perfectly cut, and it really stands out, makes you turn around and look after them.
The young are tacky, especially the guys.

Post 461 and 462 are quite interesting especially the guy who has three pictures over time.

People often leave comments saying something like "this look isn't new or directional"

Looking "new" or "directional" is of very little importance to most of us. I don't think I would ever describe Darcy as "directional" and yet I know a lot of women that would love to have the kind of quiet chic that she embodies.

You're very welcome P.i.P! ^_^

Now, don't get on my case. I'm not sure which are from Milan and which are from Paris.

hey! so im going to be in rome for a few months and was wondering if anyone, preferably those who live there (but if you know too, dont hesitate!!) knew how the weather would be from now until january! i only am able to bring two check in suitcases and two carry on bags but have no idea what to pack!!! big warm coats? rain jackets? umbrellas? rain boots? gloves? i just dont know!! ahhh! haha, its actually getting me quite stressed out!

...and if you have any recommendations for good walking shoes, it would be greatly apprectiated (tennis shoes? sandals? i dont know the fashion there! im just a west coast american!! haha)

Seeing the streetstyle pictures makes me want to go to Milan. The girls look stylish.

LAlights, I usually wear tennis shoes as walking shoes when traveling but it surely isn't fashionable. Am still looking for some stylish walking shoes.

I'm not really impressed by Italian street style. I guess I expected a little more and maybe something different.
