Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez - Designers, Creative Directors of Proenza Schouler

I have a conspiracy theory that it doesn't pay to be a head designer anymore and the rest prefer to earn extra money by consulting and only agree to it out of desperation. In one of the articles about Celine it was said that they will start using more statistics and market analysis, so it will probably be the same here. The sales department will bring information about what type of clothes they should design.

My only issue with the duo is that it took them almost 2 decades at PS to define a “look” (which ended up being nothing but an old Celine and Jil Sander mashup). I feel that once they go to Loewe, their designs are going to be directionless yet very Ghesquiere coded like their older work.

I have heard this same sentiment from someone working in the design studio at a big brand. The top job sounds kind of awful, like you are just putting out fires all day. (I guess like most creative industries that have become so corporatized, the CEOs seem to have the real power and control now?)

Even Trump has done something right at the beginning of his 2nd term, I doubt this duo can outdo that for the sake of shutting up our mouth in TFS. But design-wise they can copy whatever is good for Loewe.
Basically, Proenza for Loewe will look like random items from Loewe on Yoox — from two seasons ago, but FRESHLY copied lol
