Yes I kinda like it….But because it feels familiar rather than anything else.
I think the New Look silhouettes are actually stunning.

The feather Balenciaga look would look good on the Oscars RC.
This man is literally pouring his money into every single departments of his company except for his atelier. Like babe you can’t pretend to upscale your brand while basic tailoring and good construction are nonexistent in your clothes.

That coat makes Christy look like she has a hunched back. When a garment give you a bad posture, it’s a no from me.
I actually think that this collection is a step up in terms of finishing. And I also think that he was more pragmatic in his use of fabrics. I’m seeing a lot of cotton and jersey.
I’m also quite impressed in a way.

The issue for me lies in his ambitions, his promise and the result.

Jacquemus is a contemporary brand and he grew his contemporary brand based on this approachable thing both in terms of pricing and products. They sells a lot of « merch » like most brands but because of that contemporary status, it’s hard to imagine going there for a sequined dress, a cashmere sweater or a feather dress.

And for me that’s where the issue is. You can sell creativity, a good and honest product, pragmatism but when you want to sell the illusion of luxury, suddenly, we have more expectations. The clothes should be made in Italy. Perception is important.
And I don’t think he can deliver there.

Listen Simon, please stay away from thighs and hips. Don’t think about them, don’t look at them, just pretend like they don’t exist. Keep your focus on the waist and let the fabrics naturally drape over them. When your volumes don’t make the models look wide in the bottom, then maybe we can talk. Until then, play it safe with the nipped waists. Thank you.

This show is giving me the same sensation as suspicious liquid dripping from a trash bag: I wish I hadn't seen it. But well, at least it's obvious that this brand is desperate, and they can thank themselves for this state. Even the audience didn't care so I can't see the point why I should pay attention to any of this.

And no, hiring people from Alaia and Loewe does not mean automatically that your brand is on that level, Simon.

Wow the fabrics and constructions are really cheap this time around. Go check the details photos, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Adriana Lima looked phenomenal

Obsessed with the woman chewing gum

Loooveee her whoever she is looool

Her expression is very fitting…

When it comes to this collection I’m just not buying it…Who is he trying to be?! It comes off try hard, pretentious but lame and unoriginal… Nothing worse than seeing a designer use another houses codes so blatantly… Falling heavily face first because there are no chops to back it up.. We don’t need another Alaia because if we compare, this looks cheap. I struggle to see the future of this brand because after all these years it seems it’s still trying to find its feet when it comes to the actual clothes.. While he has succeeded in the marketing stakes the clothes have always given sub par…

And it's already available online.
Yes it’s his motto. His calendar follows the pre-seasons and generally, his shows coincides with the arrival in stores.

And it will be interesting regarding his new retail reality.

Tbh, I don’t know why young and independent designers don’t follow that model more. He has 6 full months of merchandise at full retail price here…
