James Franco

I think his intelligence really shines through in his acting and his interviews. He understands that characters have to be more than just two-dimensional, they have to have a purpose and their own agenda, not just parrot off lines at the right time at the right angle. The Black Book interview was a great read.

I adore his work. I spend way too much time looking at women in this forum.
what a breather

Congratulations to James for his Golden Globe nomination!

Personally I'd choose Brendan Gleeson, but to be fair I have not yet seen Pineapple Express. (I know, I know, I'm a total square!)

it kinda stupid that he was nominated for PE and not Milk.

I honestly never understood his appeal until I watched him on Letterman. He's adorable and seems pretty intelligent. He also apparently goes to my school. He looks a lot like James Dean. One of the only actors today who actually looks like a classic film star.
few years ago he played James Dean in a biopic

Congrats to JAmes for his gg nods, he was hysterical in express and cant wait to see Milk!

He was so deliciously adorable on Leno last night, omg. Love him.

He made a better James Dean than James Dean, RENT it, wonderful performance.

Aw, if a youtube pops up and anybody catches it, they should post it here. SMH I missed it. :(

Wondering why James Franco skipped the Golden Globes this weekend? According to a well-placed tipster, the actor is currently enrolled in an MFA program in North Carolina. Franco allegedly skipped out early from the program to attend the Golden Globes, but, in a very Pineapple Express-ian turn of events, missed his flight and just ended up going back to the program instead. Mystery solved!

For those of you who doubted our earlier reports that James Franco was busy studying for his MFA in North Carolina instead of attending the Golden Globes, well, we think you owe us an apology. We just got off the phone with Ben Anderson, spokesperson for the Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina, who confirmed to Vulture that Mr. Franco did indeed spend a stretch at the college's winter residency studying poetry as part of the school's MFA Program for Writers. We can only hope, for his sake, that he spent some time poring through the canon of e.e. cummings while there. - nymag.
That is good for him. Except I can't imagine going to four schools at once. Warren Wilson sounds amazing for him, their poetry program I hear is one of the best. Kudos for his ambition.

 And via easy_peasy_24 on livejournal:
My dad goes to the gym with the head of the film department at NYU (...could we please forget how "my mother's hairdresser's sister's friend's aunt's dog's baby brother's uncle" that sounded?), with whom he's friendly, and apparently the department head can't stop singing Franco's praises- both with respect to talent and especially regarding his allegedly unbelievable work ethic. Really, from what I've heard, the guy's no slouch. Coupled with everything he's doing at once, that never fails to make me feel lazy as ****.
