God, this family is so embarrassing. Teen pregnancy is nothing new, especially here in the US. these people (celebrities) have no idea how much of an influence they can be on the young and impressionable.

I do agree with everyone that Jamie Lynn being pregnant is not a good thing, but I wish everyone would leave the ppor girl alone. People don't realize how many 16 year olds have sex...probably half of all the 15/16/17 year old girls I know have had sex, they just happen to not get pregnant but they very easily could. Even if Jamie Lynn had done everything right and used protection, she could still get pregnant. I just think people should give her a break, because sh*t happens...

I always without fail am happy for anyone who announces a pregnancy as it is always a happy event and should be celebrated positively....

this however is one of the saddest things i have heard in a long long time.. i dont care how old she (my mum was married at that age, pregnant 1 year later and still married 40 years down the line) is but sorry to say that the family has it in to have some idiotic views on how to conceive and how to live life in general...
i feel sorry for both sisters and sad to see how such a public family is crumbling down every day in front of million of people

... i hate to say it but what is this world coming to?? i DO actually miss old fashion style families and people with principles...

Well said, though it still makes me sad because I think that instead of a mother, the Spears girls got a fame-hungry moron who contented herself with living out her own fantasies through her children.

Did Jamie Lynn get pregnant on purpose?

According to sources, Casey had tried breaking up with her but she kept begging him back. She was allegedly so desperate to keep him – and also, like her sister, so genetically stupid – she stopped taking her pill. Rumour has it his family is pissed. And to corner him into the situation, she supposedly went public with the pregnancy.

Adding to the mix is this website – not confirmed to be legit – claiming from Casey himself that it’s over with Jamie Lynn. The site is probably a hoax but behind the scenes, things are indeed tense. Jamie Lynn apparently keeps insisting that she and Casey are staying together while he is rumored to be trying to get the hell out.

I agree as well, but at the same time a part of me thinks "did this girl not see what a mess her sister is...???" I think that's what I find so fascinating, that despite watching her sister screw up so many times she's now in a mess herself. Accidents happen though, and I wish her the best.

Ditto. I wouldn't even consider it when I was a teen because of the stigma and embarassement that's attached to being a 'knocked-up teen'. And hopefully that stigma continues to prevent idiot teens from making stupid decisions like that.

For the sake of her teeny-bopper fans I hope Jamie Lynn's pregnancy and aftermath is anything but fairy-tale

I agree it's nothing new for 16 yr old girls to have sex but when she has great career opportunities that others would kill for & she's watched how poorly her sister has dealt with her 2 kids - you think she'd go that extra mile to make sure she didn't get pregnant.

Unless she did get pregnant to keep her bf (which would make her a freaking idiot) then it was clearly an accidental pregnancy and I don't know how many 16 yr olds are mentally & emotionally equipped to raise a child. Sure Jamie Lynn may have some money in the bank (althought not nearly as much as her sister and being a teen mother will sure cause her earning potential to dry up) but as Brit has proved having money doesn't help at all in parenting.

The fact that Jamie Lynn's attorney's sent a letter to the National Enquirer over their July pregnancy story refering to her as a "morally upright christian" is all the more hilarious right now.
