It's funny how much attention this "collection" is getting. I guess it's kinda like slowing down and staring at a carwreck.
lol, well put Alex :flower:

I just saw the entire collection at style.com. I tried to be as objective as possible, disregarding my dislike of her and so on. And though it isn't all horrible (most of it is) I don't like anything about it - especially not the way it's put together. I'll never understand why celebrities believe they can be designers

I definetly dont feel sorry for the models in that show -- have you thought about the exposure they are getting for being in the Jennifer Lopez Fashion show? They will be in so many video clips on fashion televion shows, regular news programs, entertainment news shows, specials on the cable StyleNetwork, Full Frontal Fashion tv show, MTV is doing a special on this...I mean it is a major marketing tool. These models will be noticed by people who are not fashion afficionados...all those regular people leading regular lives not avidly following fashion...those are the people these models are going to get out in front of...and eventually that leads to higher popularity, and eventually money for them.

Also, so many people were hating her collection before they even saw it. How is this objective? Indeed, she's worn some cheesy outfits...but I seem to remember other celebrities, and yes designers wearing and producing some notable fashion mistakes...and they were not ghetto. Jennifer Lopez is a smart business woman, her fashion is not about high concepts, it is about finding one more product to sell to the demographic that is buying her music and paying to see her films. Can we really expect her line to include looks inspired by chanel, or yamamoto, or lanvin for example? Her fans dont want to dress like that, and the people who do want to dress like that are probably not interested in Lopez' product (fashion, film, nor music). They are two totally different markets. This is business folks.

BRAVO!!!!

Both points you made I agree with wholeheartedly. Both aspect are based on Business. The models are there to do what they are paid to do. They are professionals and most likely had the option of participating / or not.

Mrs Lopez-Anthony she is a very smart business women trying to capitalize on her image. I would do the same thing if I were famous.
Business is Business I think we are being personal:blush:

You guys Sweetface is the licencing she got to make her clothing. Beyonce got a licensing agreement with Tarrat Apparel Group or something like that. I remember it from when she first got her JLo line and I kept seeing Sweetface everywhere and had to look it up. Her line is JLo, but Sweetface makes her clothing.

She's still 'Jenny from the block,' but this sweet face is sporting her own fashion line these days. Sweetface Fashion is the holding company that produces the lines of women's clothing and fragrances with J-Lo's name on them. Sold through department stores and on the Internet, J-Lo's products are rapidly gaining popularity among the teen set that also follows the other roles Jennifer Lopez chooses for herself. In 2004 the company opened its first storefront, called JLo by Jennifer Lopez, in Moscow. Sweetface Fashion is owned half by Jennifer Lopez and half by Andy Hilfiger (Tommy's brother).

this is a new line..in addition to j.lo ...
and is also produced by sweetface..which is the parent company... :p

it is her name that she chose..not some licensing company that she signed with like beyonce...

Jennifer named the company SWEETFACE...she owns half and Andy Hilfiger owns the other half...hate to blow the cover but Sweetface was her ex-hubby Cris' nickname for her...she said this in an interview while they were together...

Sweetface Fashion, LLC is the actual company's name...J.LO is only one line now SWEETFACE is another line within the company.

I'm so proud of Jennifer's achievements thus far....Eat it haters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :innocent:

its all money grabbing waste of time
great.......lets see the streets filled with even more people with no style thinking theyre the shite because theyre wearing some jlo couture
it makes me SICK

its time for fashion to become UBER ELITIST once again

If you dropped me off at the mall, I could find this same outfit in twenty minutes.

well...maybe it will be sold at the mall?..
anyone have any idea about pricepoints?...
maybe it's just contemporary sportswear...?

With that million dollar jeans, those sweatshirt would probably be around $200, skirts, $300, dresses, $1000, and shoes $400...:innocent:
