marrimoda said:I definetly dont feel sorry for the models in that show -- have you thought about the exposure they are getting for being in the Jennifer Lopez Fashion show? They will be in so many video clips on fashion televion shows, regular news programs, entertainment news shows, specials on the cable StyleNetwork, Full Frontal Fashion tv show, MTV is doing a special on this...I mean it is a major marketing tool. These models will be noticed by people who are not fashion afficionados...all those regular people leading regular lives not avidly following fashion...those are the people these models are going to get out in front of...and eventually that leads to higher popularity, and eventually money for them.
Also, so many people were hating her collection before they even saw it. How is this objective? Indeed, she's worn some cheesy outfits...but I seem to remember other celebrities, and yes designers wearing and producing some notable fashion mistakes...and they were not ghetto. Jennifer Lopez is a smart business woman, her fashion is not about high concepts, it is about finding one more product to sell to the demographic that is buying her music and paying to see her films. Can we really expect her line to include looks inspired by chanel, or yamamoto, or lanvin for example? Her fans dont want to dress like that, and the people who do want to dress like that are probably not interested in Lopez' product (fashion, film, nor music). They are two totally different markets. This is business folks.

She's still 'Jenny from the block,' but this sweet face is sporting her own fashion line these days. Sweetface Fashion is the holding company that produces the lines of women's clothing and fragrances with J-Lo's name on them. Sold through department stores and on the Internet, J-Lo's products are rapidly gaining popularity among the teen set that also follows the other roles Jennifer Lopez chooses for herself. In 2004 the company opened its first storefront, called JLo by Jennifer Lopez, in Moscow. Sweetface Fashion is owned half by Jennifer Lopez and half by Andy Hilfiger (Tommy's brother).

I remember it from when she first got her JLo line and I kept seeing Sweetface everywhere and had to look it up. Her line is JLo, but Sweetface makes her clothing.
